okay, so a good DPSS will definately be better in divergence if i understand that right. :thanks:

YES. Preferences are different. I´m a less power, but better divergence guy.

That´s why I still don´t have one of those 1W 638nm :)

But I´m ok with DTR sending me this built here for free

Yeah, and in the other cases they're TEM01 with fat beams :p
Diode lasers are far more predictable.

Then you just get a TEM00 one as a replacement :p ,

That's true , But i'm a DPSS type of guy .... :L

Same here, i also prefer divergence. But best is good divergence combined with POWER :D

Super build DTR, congrats on being king of the 520nm hill !!! Great detailed tutorial also. Thanks for sharing with us.
Perfect choice of host for this monster. That reminds me, I've got to get my MS-SSW "stubby" pics up!

+1 for #1 :)

Very very impressive. You have the envy of every single person on LPF.:bowdown::bowdown:

It will be interesting to see how "cheap" these will get..... eventually.

Very awesome laser. I wonder how it will compare with 5W of 445. I hope 2.4a is a safe op current for a long life, and 1.4W is a normal output. If you ever need room for more lasers, I'll kindly take it off your hands for free :D
