As far as heatsinking this driver, would it be safe to coat the drive entirely with arctic alimuna? I was given advice that this might be a bad idea since although it would take heat away from the 'hot' components that heat could damage more heat sensitive components. I don't think that this is true in this case but then again I don't know.

I put thermal adhesive all over the side with the IC. I have one hooked up to a lab style laser for testing the transmission of optics, and even after one hour runs the driver's current output is stable as a rock; that's just my personal experience though.

What is the height of the driver overall? (including the solder balls underneath) I am trying to see how long of a screw I might need for a bracket to hold the x-drive temporarily rather than permanently gluing it to my heatsink.

Hi all,
I was just wondering if there is a driver board with a capability to add something like a thermistor for thermal shut off protection for the diode?? and if it doesn't already exist, would it be possible to make one?

Quick question you might know the answer to.

If I wanted to run a LED at 1.65A with a Vf of around 3.2v off of a single 3.7v lithium cell, would your driver still regulate it ok?

I don't want to use a linear regulator because I want to have the ability to use either a single 18650 or 2x RCR123A... but a linear driver would be too inefficient on the double cell arrangement.

I'm sure this has been asked, but without reading through this whole thread. What is approximate load limit at 3.7v in?

I see that at Cajunlasers they are sold for $20 while you're offering them here for $15. Is that because that shop isn't yours? Who's is it? Is it possible to get then for $15 at Cajunlasers so I don't pay shipping twice? (I also have other orders at Cajunlasers)

Cajunlasers doesn't belong to Lazeerer, it belongs to member Clif :) Lazeerer can not stock them all the time and ships orders off to Clif to take some of the burden off himself.

Well if you get them from Clif (cajunlasers) you are going to have to pay more because he needs to make a profit as well. I like to try and get mine from lazeerer because it costs me $18 shipped from him and $27 shipped from Clif. Lazeerer has AMAZING customer service and has put up with all my annoying questions and the hiccup in shipping, i am not saying clif doesn't have good customer because i have only placed one order with him and everything went smoothly and i didn't have any questions.

Use LPF member discount code PF10 for a 10% discount on your future orders. The shipping I charge for all orders is flat rate so it doesn't matter how large the order is shipping stays the same. Unless you buy a shipping upgrade. If I only sold lighter things like driver boards and diodes I could get by with a less expensive rate on overseas orders, but when someone adds 10 heat sinks with their order the weight adds up quick :yh:
