I hope to have a few done this weekend, then I'll be looking for a few people to send them to for testing. I don't want to make a huge batch to find that I drilled the hole too far off center or something like that.

So, if anyone wants a test piece (no charge) let me know. I only ask that you have a c-mount, preferably a visible WL with a FAC lens. I should have around 5, unless I royally screw something up :D

I also have a few 3.8mm mounts I would like to send to someone for testing too. I don't have any 3.8mm diodes myself so I had nothing but datasheets to go by. If I calculated everything out correctly the emitter should sit in the same spot as the 5.6mm module and everything should function exactly the same from there. But as I've found out many many times before things don't always work out in the real world as they do in the solidworks world. Once again, just PM me and I'll get a pair sent to you to test. I only ask that you have one of the red 3.8mm diodes on hand already as well as everything else you would need to get it lasing!

I have plenty of working C-Mounts, though non are FAC'd. They are in the range of IR that is visible, and I'd love to be the guinea pig for the MODCs (esp since I was the one pushing for these for so long - I'm anxious/excited!)

Regarding the 3.8mm, send Awlego a PM. I traded him my 90mW 638nm Opnext in the 3.8mm can. Maybe he would be looking to test it out in a module?

RHD, I'm pretty sure you are a shoe in for a test module or two ;)

I was sort of hoping someone with a non exotic 3.8mm diode could test them, I would feel awful if someone pressed a rare/expensive diode into a module of mine to find out they have to pry it back out somehow. I'm not even sure how you would go about pressing the diode out for that matter, it's hard to fathom how small those diodes are without seeing it in person!

I'm happy to hear it ;)

I'm not sure there ARE any non-exotic 3.8mm diodes... are there?

RHD, Of course there are! Arent there some in IR/RED in the bdr s06j sled?

Pontiacg5, I have 4 VERY expensive 635 c mounts in the mail, they don't have a lens though. I could sell you one, or maybe have you send me a module and have me see how it fits?

I'm still sitting on a 300mW 635nm C-mount with FAC lens.

My only concern would be if cooling would be enough for such a diode. It seems, unless we can find a way to mount a TEC, the module itself may not be enough.

I would be willing to test out one of these modules with my C-mount if you like. Let me know all the information that you are interested in finding with these modules.

Of course alignment, I would guess also that the other modules would work perhaps with just a Aixiz red lens if the diode itself is FAC?

This is a really nice option to have available. Love the copper.

I hope these will be permanently available?

I plan to on getting some down the road a bit.

FYI with something small you can save a good $3 on shipping if you shipped first class instead of the $5 flat rate priority mail envelope, could probably slip quite a few of these into a regular tyvek envelope with some wrapping.
The only thing you have to watch out for is the 13oz first class limit.

Just a heads-up for the aluminum driver heatsink:

If you don't have perfectly straight pins on your diode or you don't have heatshrink to insulate the pins with, the driver HS could cause shorting... Maybe you could paint/anodize the rim where the diode pins go through?

For now heatshrink tubing will have to work to keep things from shorting, in the future I may look into anodizing them to keep everything isolated. The pins are a danger though, you will need to make sure they are straight and that you don't have any giant solder bubbles in the way. Because of the way everything will assemble the chances of damaging anything are slim. (You will know if it's not working right, stop if you feel resistance!)

I do have around 36 feet of red, black, and white HS tubing. I'll be sending a little of each with each aluminum driver module. I should have some driver heatsinks available tomorrow, if all goes well :D

I am lowering shipping to $3 domestic and $4.99 international and I'm refunding the difference to everyone who has ordered from me already. (No tracking for you guys over the pond, sorry!)

Coming soon ;)

To order some modules PM me!

Also, anyone well versed in making Google checkout shopping carts/websites who is interested in trading website work for some modules or other laser goodies PM me!

If you dont have someone else doing this, I would be happy to take a whack at it. I have done paypal before but not google checkout. I bet I could figure it out though

Received my modules today and am putting it in a pocket mini with copper heatskink that will be running at about 1W.

The modules are great: the lenses fit tighter, and the you can tell that the tolerances are much tighter than Aixiz.

Also got the refund notification today.

Thanks much!

Most decent shopping cart scripts do support Goole Checkout, and its just a matter of configuring it in the backend.

If you can build the website, I'd be happy to help out with anything ou can't figure out.

Hey, I don't suppose you would be willing to make 3 of those copper aixiz press-fits in a 1/2" O.D., would you? The reason I ask is I am knife edging 3 x 445nm together using these:
12X30mm aluminum mount for AixiZ 12X30mm units, AixiZ
Unfortunately, the hole for these are drilled 1/2" and not 12mm. Granted, not a whole heck of a lot of difference, but I was able to wrap 5+ layers of aluminum foil and grease and still had a loose fit.
I would of course be willing to pay an extra "custom" fee for your time and skill. (Or if you'd like some never been used 445nm diodes in trade, I could do that to)

I make these from 1/2" bar stock, when I make the next batch I will leave the OD untouched and set a few aside for you. That probably won't be for two weeks though...

I'm working on a website, zencart with the Google checkout module. For some reason google and Zencart aren't playing nice together, I think it has something to do with responcehandler.php or some other gibberish like that. I really haven't had much time to play with it though so I think I can get it. I did it once before at least, should have wrote down how I did it!
