12mm Copper 3.8mm 5.6mm and 9mm Aixiz replacement modules

The driver heatsink is still in progress. Its very hard to mill a slot for the driver when all you have to hold onto is about 3mm of 1mm thick aluminum. I am more than likely going to have to change the design a little.

I hope you aren't too upset about that! With Aixiz you get a few extra parts I wasn't initially supplying, my modules always came with just the head. A killer deal considering they are asking for less than my original prices!

Thank you PontiacG5 for you to worry about my fate ...
If I could, I would have machined parts according to my plans, but I've drawn on paper. The problem is that now no one can read a paper plan, they have their digital files from SolidWorks or AutoCAD ...
As promised, I'll keep you informed of the following reception of the delivery of Aixis.
Thanks all, for...all. :thanks:

Hi Hakzaw1...and thank you,
I will order them for testing, but it's a shame it is not the complete set as described earlier in this topic, mainly the back which presses the diode.
I will be ordering the standard 12x30 too and make changes.
I will keep you informed of the outcome.
Have a good day.
Christophe.:thanks:
///not a complete set??
it is a complete AixiZ module with spring and stock lens==$3.50
with the copper middle. formallly 12$- AixiZ is better deal.
Add glass red lens for 5$ more

add glass 400-450nm lens for ~$10.

from AixiZ.com(NOT ekbay or Amazon)
*****************
G series glass lens alone $40+
serveral good sellers here at LPF.

the testing part is over they draw away heat better.

Hi, all...
Delivery made today. As I suspected, it is just one piece. I'm going to test soon, but I think a short piece of support on the diode with internal thread would be good for compact modules.
For now, I continue, but do not expect pictures soon, I have only two days a month to spend with my setup ...:undecided:

:thanks:

You write..'As I suspected, it is just one piece.'

I do not understand what you are saying here--AFAIK AixiZ only sell these as a complete module with several parts front part/lens/lens spring/ copper part and back part of module)--not just the copper part.. please reply.

Hi Hakzaw1,

Yes, only the copper unit. But it's on the Aixiz Ebay store...
It's not important, i have the standard 12x30 complete modules too, and i can't use all the parts.
Which would be fine, it's a piece of copper also compact rear that comes either press the diode by simply screwing in the set.;)
Initially I will use the copper base and do a double compact module with TEC positioned vertically ....

Len,
What he means is it is just the diode mount.

Or at least the 5 pack you linked in this thread is for 5 diode mounts only. Not the full 12x30 module just the copper diode mounts.

The lack of a full 12x30 module seems like a silly concern. Though I say that, recognizing that I've got oodles of extra backs and acrylic lenses, that some other buyers might not.

In general, what does present an issue, is the lack of a lens spring. I recently bought a bunch of Aixiz front-only modules from Moh. They were a great deal, but now I'm at a deficit of lens springs.

Everything else seems to accumulate. Aixiz focus knobs pile up because of builds that use custom knobs. Aixiz backs pile up because 8 times out of 10 you don't use them. Aixiz acrylic lenses pile up because 9 times out of 10 you don't use them. But I always use the lens springs, so I never end up with extras. If anything, I lose them :( I have teflon tape around, but it's not a perfect solution either.

I wish Aixiz sold springs. Even if it would be an annoyingly small item on its own, at least offer it as an option along with another purchase. They're worth next to nothing, but they're so crucial to have on hand.

If you have these drawn up well, and can scan/take a good photo of them, I may be able to get it into a Dxf or dwg file for you. PM me if you are interested.

:)
