Howdy all I am back in the shop now and Western Winter Blast 27 was the best, we had some really good shows and some excellent big shells made by the members there were wonderful set pieces also, here are a few pictures and a link to the big show on Sat night, there was a extra treat put on by the Flaming Lotus Girls and there flaming egg that can put out colored flames, yep that is blue red and orange flames coming out of the egg in the center of the field.
If you are interested in pyro you should think about joining a pyro club in your area if you need any help in doing that I would be glad to give you some, for those in the west the Western Pyro Association is the one to join> https://westernpyro.org/ there are many across the country so check em out.
Here is the FLG's egg that shoots the different colored fire. You can find out more about the FLG at> http://flaminglotusgirls.com/
Here is a 8" multi break salami shell, which is an Italian design originally. So this one was a 3 break salami, two color breaks and a bottom shot which is a big salute or very loud BOOM.
My friend making a 10" ball shell
Part way through the 1st 1/2, it's filled when I started taking pictures, but you can see the stars the (round pellets) on the outside and the burst (powder coated rice hulls) in the center.
The other 1/2 of the shell is on the left it is covered with red tissue paper.
In this half serpents were placed and they will stream outwards when the shell bursts to make a ringed display, it's called a Saturn shell.
Then the half's are put together
Then the shell is wrapped on a WASP machine with gummed paper tape till it's the correct size and wall thickness.
And dried in the sun for a day
Then a lift charge and leader is attached and the shell is ready to fire :eg:
Here is a 16" being filled and finished with two time fuses.
A 36" and two 24" shells.
The boys from Colorado made this "set piece" see if you can tell what it is
hint it's green when it's lit up.
We have other things happening at times.

As with any fire works no camera can capture the full effect and most colors never come out correctly either in hue or brilliance, so you'll just have to come out for the full effect :eg:
I hope you enjoyed the post it was fun being there and helping and any one interested in attending a blast may contact me anytime on this station.
