Won an auction, price was wrong?

Well, the seller updated the listing, to the now apparently REAL price of $225.

I've bought it at the $26 price mark... Should I pay, or what should I do? o.O

Isn't it a legal and binding contract when someone sells something on eBay?

Simple answer, you can't force a seller to sell.
You can pay but don't be surprised if the seller refunds you.
If they do, all you can do is leave negative feedback, report for seller non performance, and forget about it.

I've won quite a few things on ebay and paid instantly that were absolute bargains. Surprise surprise my money keeps getting refunded. Always worth a shot though...lol :D

You said you bought it before the price changed? The seller shouldn't be able to make changes after something sold. The date and time it was changed is listed on the page. You should've recieved an e-mail saying you bought it. You can use that against the seller since it should have the date and time you bought it.
 
Lemme clarify a little;

I saw the listing, and double checked to make sure it really was 12x burner... it was.

So, I clicked "buy now" and got the price of $26.

Now, I did not instantly pay for it yet. After about an hour I think, he redid the listing with a new price of $226.

I'm the only one who bought it. No others were "sold" during that time period.

Now, going back and looking into his feedback it seems the same thing occured to another person... Except it got sold to him for $35, as opposed to my $26.

Both have the same "damage", where the drive doesn't eject discs all the time...So I guess he returned it back to him? The new listing states that it WAS working, but has been finicky as of late? But the old listing states that it does work, just the ejecting is an issue. So, I'm guessing he did return it.

However, this damage is irrelevant to me as I just want it for the laser diodes inside.

Go pay for it - he may have a second fully working one and you get the buggered one. So what?

Worst case is he refunds you $26.

Just go for it - what have you got to lose?
 
If you have confirmation that you only owe $26, you pay the $26. But always pay attention to how much shipping is, I have seen items that were $10 and shipping was $49. I always check things out before I buy anything on Ebay.
 
He didnt change the price on yours, he changed it for the second one.

Pay for it, and see what happens. Maybe he only charged so low to get the broken one sold. Looks like someone returned it because they could not use it. Which is great for you.

I'm gonna be so happy if I get a 12x blu-ray for that cheap. That's basically half off!

Plus there's also the red diode in there too. :B
 
Damn right pay for it! You won at that price. when going through Paypal when you pay and confirm the deal it was bought at that price he can't change it after the fact. worse that can happen have to go through Paypal it is a binding deal! Good luck for sure!

If you paid the money it is still not guaranteed you get the diode. Some time ago there was cheap LPC-815 sleds on Ebay. $5 a piece. i bought some and paid the money.
They just say the stock was not correct, cancelled the order and refund the money. No question asked !
 
Blord, it's the entire drive, not just the diode sled. o:

I still haven't gotten any notifications yet. I'm pretty sure it'll be the real deal, as the new price for it is $225.... the original price is $15. (without shipping costs included of course)

I don't think it'd be possible to screw up a price that badly, but who knows. :p
