why no 2.2A 16.8mm round driver

FYI the driver was designed by a military power circuit contractor who has decades of experience. It has an adjustable voltage output of up to 6V with an input of up to 17V, a maximum current output of 3A and was designed primarily for the higher currents required by the M140 and 9mm 445nm diodes.

So you're telling me this is a constant voltage source? o.o That's no good.

I think that was just worded wrong. In the pictures I see a R100 between ground and the negative output for current sensing.

About pots, yes they are widely used, but in any applications where they are critical like this the wiper lead is connected to one of the others. This way if it jumps up for a split second the circuit would see the full resistance of the pot, not 0v. Hopefully that's what you have here. If the pots wiper being used as the voltage divider output you cant do that.

No, this is an adjustable, constant current source. The voltage is controlled by the regulator (and the battery of course), and in the case of the SD-3 driver is limited to 6V maximum.

Ben, would you like to sell your drivers on our stores? Let me know via PM.

What's your point? I thought you needed a 17mm round 2.2A driver, and were claiming that they are extremely uncommon? They are the most common driver around!

What do you mean by that? Most linears don't do 2.2A and if they did they aren't very efficient at all compared to the driver Ben is designing.

So do you already have a round driver out? Im just asking because I've never seen it at Cajun lasers just the lower powered ones?

Yes I do. It's just sold out at CajunLasers. I think I will start selling them on my own if SurvivalLasers doesn't pick them up. I also have a round and rectangular low-dropout linear driver.

In that case I might grab one to complete a build as long as its capable of 2.2A. How much are these going for?

I am putting together a list of LPF based vendors, can I put you down as driver vendors Wolfman and benmwv?

And to Garoq, I have SL on my list already in all the major categories
