Why does WL claim to have the brightest and most powerful lasers?

They really do have effective marketing. When I was looking for lasers they were the first to come to my attention. A few days later I purchased one of their lasers.
They have great hosts but I should have looked around a bit more before spending such a large amount of money.

As everyone already stated, they have really good marketing and brand awareness, and while the quality of their products can be sometimes considered questionable at best, i think that many of us owe a big "Thank You" to them for leading us here.

And hey, even if you hate WL, at least you weren't brought here by kipkay, amirite?

My Artic blue does exactly what the video shows from WL

So I'm happy with mine but I will be buying a laser made from another member.

am i the only one who didnt find WL first, i actually found LPF before i heard of WL.....call me odd!!! One of the first things i read here was 33 reasons not to buy WL and from that point on never even interested in WL. went to their site once and laughed at how bad it is, dont get me wrong the site itself is fine but after reading the below par quality and seeing how they praise their lasers, kinda funny. my first laser was bought from lazerer and then a few weeks later, Blord. im glad i didnt buy a WL but i would love to compare one to my 501b 445 :)

Wicked Lasers have somehow become the face of lasers, maybe it's because they have extremely good advertising although some of their claims are un-true. It's stupid that WL have become this, we all know that there are many, many laser companies that are better than them. Their fantastic advertising and search optimization has lead to many n00bs buying a crappy over-priced laser. It sucks.

Just on a side-note, Kipkay got me into lasers and therefor I found this forum...please don't hurt me

Hi there!

So WL claims to have the brightest, strongest, most powerful whatsoever lasers in the wolrd!

Therefore I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why there is no big warning sign to tell you, it is a must to wear eye protection while operating their stuff!

All I found was a little notification in the technical specs, about required eyeware (O.D. 2.0), that is like to be "overread" very easily!

And of course the goggles in the accsessories section!

IMHO that`s very poor for a company with that efficient marketing, that will guarantee you worldwide delivery and so on!

"Why does WL claim to have the brightest and most powerful lasers?"

To get to the other side?

Maybe they claim this becouse they are in the guinnes book of records of 2007

To be fair, many sites, not just WL, claim to have "the worlds most powerful handheld" they are all wrong, the military probably has that, second to that, someone on this forum I would imagine. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!

Don't forget about the sciences! :) *cough, NASA
The reason I became interested in the "stronger" lasers was when I was reading about NASA's laser reflectors on the moon (not from this article but it will suffice).

McDonald Observatory in TEXAS!!*Now lets see who will be the first on this forum to get a reflection back from the moon (screw you divergence!)

As for my love of these things, It all started with a very nice red laser as a child (and watching nova/sci-channel), and dissembling my PS1 to figure out where "the laser thing" was; destroying it in the process (not knowing what a diode was when I was young) from there it all started with CandlePower Forums oddly enough. (Remeber when DX sold HP lasers before PP neutered them? :D)

omg forgot about the original intent of this thread... WL to me has put the cash down to design some unique "fancy looking" hosts. While other companies still have very high quality lasers, the hosts often seem to look very standard and repetitive. This is why I love the b/s/t and customs lasers because the variety of cheap cool looking flashlight hosts is abundant (minus the heat sinks). Also WL have been around for a while before the 445 and 405's went crazy.

THey want their $$$ The krypton is now 299 dollars for 100mw!!! :wtf::undecided:

Advertising. That's all it really is... problem is, they are wayyyyyy over-hyped and people aren't realizing the power and danger of higher powered lasers...

What ARG and Ricaboo say "Marketing"...
