Who Would Be Interested In Some Brass Hosts?

I would like to build some brass hosts and was just wondering if there would be any interest in them.
The first small run of hosts will be something like a single 14500 pen style host made of 100% brass. The host will hold a full 12x30 mm module and will be pre wired. Price will be no more than 30.00 with free shipping in the US. What do you thank?

Update: Brass has be ordered.
Knurling on the brass hosts is not going to be possible with the tooling I have, the brass is just to hard.

Ok Crazyspaz made some cad drawings so we can have an idea of what it mite look like.

I'd be interested in something like that. That size would be perfect for a little 405 project I have in mind.
It also could make an interesting set if you turn one in copper, brass, and aluminum.
("Turn" meaning if you make them on a lathe could you just substitute a different round stock?)
Sorry if I am unfamiliar with host production. But I like the brass idea!

Since heatsinking won't be as good, these would be great for exotic, but low powered diodes. A nice brass single mode 510/515 would be cool.

Never really put much thought into how good the heat sinking would be but I figured it would be pretty good, am I wrong?

Some of the Chinese pens are brass. The
older ones were all brass. They just don't
look it because of all that paint. The
brass got thinner and then they started
using really thin aluminum tubing. The 30x
lasers usually have a thick brass module
pressed into an aluminum host. Standard
AixiZ modules are plated brass. Does that
help?

Brass is made with copper and zinc.
Copper is # 1 or 2 on the heat sink chart and zinc # 16 on the chart.

Yeah, so put them together and the thermal
properties are slightly worse than
aluminum. I think brass will make a nice
host, though since it hasn't been done very
often. (Or ever?)

Those sound great actually. Would be nice and hefty I would think.
