Who Would Be Interested In Some Brass Hosts?

Won't brass or copper become dull over time?

Of course both copper and brass which is an alloy of copper and zinc will tarnish or form a patina over time due to oxidation. Some people like the grenish patina...many do not.

For new brass there are ways to prevent tarnishing by applying a protective coating. For older brass, the tarnish can be removed using various cleaners that are readily commercially available.

Additionally, for consideration is the type of brass. Some brass is highly polished and others, such as the type that are used in coin magic, are dull. The dull will never be bright and shiney and is not meant to be.

As for hosts...which type to use is an interesting question and I would defer that to Ehgeumus.

I would like a brass host but being not a good conductor of heat it would have to have a copper heat sink milled into it . First is silver then copper then aluminum for best heat transfer ..
