I recently bought one of these lenses ; eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

It claims to be AR coated for blue - violet colored lasers.

However, I received the package today...

Those lens don't look coated. They ARE glass lens, though.

Should I try to complain to the buyer? :I

You might think about getting most of your laser items from people here at LPF as most
of the people here will not sell you something that doesn't match the description.

They look AR coated but for red lasers. There is a glimbse of blue coating on the lens at the second image.

@Blord: The first image is what he got and there is no coating. Neither for blue nor for red. The secound picture is just an example to compare with.

"Please handle the lens carefully to avoid any scratch or dirty on the surface."

Dirty deeep down inside must be ok.

Yep this image of mine is how they should look. Coated for red on the left and coated for blue on the right.

The lens you got appears to be the ones for IR.

The cost is drastically less then buying The Coated ones when buying in bulk. "100pcs"

If you Notice that ebayer sells alot of 808nm stuff. SO Iam thinking he is selling the IR lens as 445nm lens too and the 650nm lens he sells has 808nm in the tittle.:tsk: I bet you there the same too.

So i would say either he does not know this which i find it hard to believe since he has been selling on ebay for a wail now or he scamming people as most that buy stuff like this dont know the difference. Could also be an honest mistake.

Well, I contacted him, and we'll see what he does.

Would it be a bad idea to use it with 445 nm since it's obviously not coated right?...

I never even bother to look at my lense. I'll have to check when I get home. I just took rayfoss's word for it that they are 405-473nm coated.

If there is no coating on them then your fine to use it.:) You will just get a decrease in power.

Now if it was coated for red then i would not recommend it.

You can use coated for blue lens on red diodes but can not use lenses coated for red on blue diodes.

But un coated you can Use on 445nm. This bout the cheap acrylic lenses that come with module. you can use those for anything.

The problem is he is selling them as coated.

I will. I'm tired of being screwed over by people on eBay...

It's rather annoying, and it also costs me a lot of money. I'm on a tight budget when it comes to lasers too...so it's kind of a slap to the face, even if it is only $9.

Plus, I've killed two PHR-803T diodes with shit chinese drivers...

That's roughly $24 down the drain because of that.

And to Lazeerer,

What if it's coated with IR?... (is there any way to tell?)

And I'm hoping to get my money back, or some other type of compensation. I'm rather tired of throwing my money away.

"they are are coated and I do see a golden / bronze colored reflection
they are the best I have seen, I have tested a lot on my laser power meater , I sell these to a lot of guys that sell laser, thay are gust under a G1,
but if your not happy send it back with tracking. I like to have a 100 % feed back guts like you ,
and one way I know there coated is the drop I get on the 808nm diodes 1w to 600mw"

LOL the ones that drop the power are the lenses coated for red.

The IR clear ones will act like the Aixiz Acrylic lens.
