Hey guys, just wondering if anyone could refer me to a person who sells lasers within australia(note: Im in queensland) ? I'm new to lasers (love the hell outta them) and as an example, I have no idea what 'nm' means which is proof enough :)

apologies if I posted this in the wrong section! don't want any grumpy forum Mods.

thanks bro's.

There's a few Aus builders like me :) but not many of us sell our stuff regularly. nm refers to the wavelength of radiation (light in this case) that the laser emits. For example 405nm is a purple colour, 445nm is blue, 532nm is green and 638nm is red. Those are the most common wavelengths you will hear about. I love lasers too, so to start you off here...
+REP :)

Read the stickies about the forum on rules and how we do things here.you will find out about laser basics, safety and a whole lot more, one of the things people don't like in a first post is one that says i want, i need, where can i buy, i need help ...do an introduction first tell us about yourself then progress not just jump in and want ...

Government officials can sign up and post as well ;)

Peace,
dave

I understand what you're saying dude, Admining forums is a dick job, lol. But even with and introduction and stuff, isn't it more simple if I come here for what I wanted (don't mean to sound like an ass <3).

Note: I didn't actually say I want to buy one straight up, just wanted someone to refer me to someone else, rar-de-da.

Peace blaster, love you bro.

Do you know how many people come here and want their hand held ("referred") through the process of buying a laser? A lot of them.

Go do a search yourself. There are literally hundreds of posts with your exact same request and the same advice.

If you're too lazy for that, GTFO and stop wasting our time.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Also, don't bother buying a laser, since you will most likely end up blinding yourself. I mean for petes sake, you can't honestly come here expecting help when you're too lazy to research what 'nm' stands for.

If you don't even know what "nm" means then...lasers aren't your thing and I wouldnt trust you with a .5mW laser :can:

Real Life Example:
Hey, Im new to cars but I dont even know what a steering wheel is...

Not saying you can't ask for help, but familiarize yourself more with lasers.

Theses links are very true and the first one is a Riot and best of the lot,
ive seen it a few times and i still laugh heaps .But these really should be watched by all new people wanting to get a laser and on joining the forum.

This is your laser :)
One of the most fabulous colors among the laser hobbyists...

Anyway if you are not really familiar with lasers, then read the manual of the laser you will purchase before use! :)

Haha 532nm is a pretty nice color!

But the "Prettiest color" is definitely 556nm, have you seen it? Beautiful ;)
