Hello, and Welcome to LPF!
Without a doubt like all previous visitors here, you came in search of answers,
and knowledge.
Or perhaps just to pop some balloons with a beam of light
To that end, Please Read the Stickies, and
PLEASE USE THE SEARCH BAR!
LPF is the largest online community of laser enthusiasts, with over twenty
thousand members, and thousands of visitors on a daily basis.
While we are all here to help each other learn, and are happy to offer
assistance, no one likes answering the same question a hundred times.
With over FIFTY THOUSAND threads, and almost Eight Hundred thousand posts,
there is a good chance that the question you want to ask, has already been answered.
Here are some Tips to Help You Search LPF, and find the information you're looking for;
1. The LPF Search bar (at the bottom of the page) is powered by Google, but only Searches LaserPointerForums.com.
This means you can use all the tricks in searching here, that you would on google!
2. Keep It Simple (Stupid :na: Kiss Rule)! Start by typing the name of thing, or concept that you're looking for.
For Example: Jetlasers
Or: Lazerer 50mW green laser
3. If you find yourself with too many irrelevant results, add more keywords.
The search "blue laser" will return thousands of results.
Narrow down the search with more keywords to find what you want to know.
For example, if you want to know what wavelength is a blue laser,
add the word "wavelength" to your search. Searching for "blue laser wavelength" to find
what you're looking for.
4. Use the most important words when searching for information.
For example, instead of searching for "A safe laser to use around kids" search instead for
"Safe laser".
5. Use Search Operators;
-Adding quotation marks [ "example" ] around your search terms
will cause the Search to only return exact matches.
-Adding a minus symbol, in from of a word in your search [ -example ]
will exclude any search results that contain the word.
-Adding the tilde symbol [ ~example ] in front of your search will return approximate matches,
and matches for synonyms.
6. Use Custom Queries;
Use OR to search for for pages that may have just one of several words.
For instance [ example OR example ] Capitalized "OR" between the words.
Without the OR, your results would show only pages that match both terms.
Use asterisk * with quotation marks, to fill in a term you don't know!
For example [ "1 Watt Blue * laser" ].
7. If you prefer, you can search LaserPointerForums.com directly through Google.com!
For example [ lazerer review:laserpointerforums.com ] Will only return results from
LaserPointerForums.com that include the words "lazerer review".
If after reading the stickies, and using search, you still can't find the answer you're
looking for, than by all means Ask Away
I hope this helps, and :thanks: for reading.
