^don't make jokes with him/her. He/she will send you a PM asking what you're talking about. ;)

Wow. Nice find! Great pics too. The power cable you bought looks pretty beefy but make sure it's at least 16AWG which can handle 13A. 14AWG can handle 15A which is what I have on mine. If it's an 18AWG rated for 10A I wouldn't run the laser over about 6.5A since the PSU draws an additional 2.5A or so.

What is a good amperage to keep this at or under? I dont want to torture it.

I start by running mine at idle for a few minutes then ramp it up to 7-8A for most of the burn. I'll usually crank it up to 10A for grins and giggles too before backing back down to 7-8A then back to idle for a bit before turning the tube current off. I'll usually leave the fan on the head running for a good five minutes after or until it's blowing cool air before killing it.

BTW if you run it at full power for more than a minute or two with that small fan the thermal protection interlock will likely kick in and turn the tube off. Scared the hell out of me the first time it happened. If it does just let the fan run to cool it then unplug the PSU to reset it.

Looking great Isaac. You need to get a db25 cable so you can remote the interface. Also can you check the output in light mode (interface LCD) vs the LPM. I never did figure out what the switch (inset right side) of the interface does:thinking:

Deffinitely get an extension cable. Much more convenient for when you want to change settings. Last time I tried to LPM mine I got really low numbers but IIRC the internal meter peaked at 114mw which is almost spot on to the 108 that daguin metered it at and the 110 peak on my 2.5W Laserbee.

Now I'm curious about that switch too. I never noticed it until now. None of the documentation I have showing the remote mentions that switch.

One last thing. 140mw is awesome until you realize you're sending 1200W to the head and probably drawing about 1500W total from the wall to generate that 140mw. That's about .009% efficient. :D

^Why would you dissolve a single laser, let alone 21 of them?

ha ha ha. I get nerd/geek humor lol so I can make a Tea laser.

Great system you put together there isaac! Don't you just love those tight beam specs?

So are you moving up the food chain to 240 or 3phase water cooled?

Nice having a few more and newer gas guys. Yah!

Haha I love this laser but my room is small for these Titans. I think for now I am sticking with my HeNe's and my Argon.

Imagine running these for a couple hours in a small dorm to perfect the alignment on them :p
