Updated: Mounting Bases Added: FS: Large Square Heatsinks, Labby, Testing, TEC $15ea

Re: FS: Large Square Heatsinks, Labby and Testing $10ea (Custom Lab Heatsinks Availab

Ya I was thinking mainly for a lab-style laser, but in my mind I picture them as one nice big unit, where the laser and the driver and the switches and everything are in one rectangular prism. But what y'all say makes sense. I understand now.

Thanks,
Isaac

These are also great for if you want to just mount them to a surface, and use them to test your module's output power or whatnot before you install it into a handheld. You could probably stick a TEC on it no problem if you really wanted to for a lab build as well. Either way more than enough mass here, and a perfect fit for copper modules.

Which batch of copper are you referring to?? AixiZ was sold out of the ponitacG5 copper and just got in another finished- they are at AixiZ now-

I have enever seen the other ones that were made (in China) and sold-out here.. ideally 12mm is 12mm- for all but slight differences are bound to happen
HOWEVER IMO its easy to sand out the bore a little with emory cloth and a hand drill- hard part is making a tighter fit once its too large,,lol

Copper shims can be used but thats not the idea method- nor using a lot of thermal paste--

Well I am using the one's DTR is selling. Not sure where he got them. They are supposedly 11.92mm. I will most likely be reaming all further heatsinks to 12mm.

Bump!

Re: Updated: Mounting Bases Added: FS: Large Square Heatsinks, Labby and Testing $10e

Another one sold! Also just sold a batch to Aixiz, so check those out once they're up!

Update: Mounting bases are now available! With these bases, you can mount the heatsink to your project box without needing to flip it upside-down. The holes for mounting can be drilled to fit whatever size hardware you want to use. I will include the screws to hold the heatsink to the mounting plate, and can also supply the hardware to mount down the heatsink for a fee.

Thanks! Two Heatsinks sold now. If anyone else wants one, let me know. I can also do custom lab heatsinks to suit your needs.

BUMP!!
FINALLY getting around to make use of those lab heat sinks you made for me-
AND due to the mass I am not needing afaik to use a TEC-just two Kasio fans to make a ton on air pass thru the PJ- the fans are not the most quite I has seen but with the music going I do not hear them.

+5 to you both Len

EDIT!!
The base these guys offer for the lab heatsink is a super thing to have-BECAUSE- you can remove the whole thing from the top-any time you need to work from the bottom of a PJ baseplate its a bigger PITA.
So I am making 'plates' for everything that comes like that.

Can you build me one of these without fins, and with the hole drilled through the top instead?

So you want the diode bore through the whole 2" Height so you can lay it on it's side instead?
