too many sticky's?

I like the idea of 2 sections for Sellers....

You're full of Zen this morning....:D

3 packs of cigarettes, 6 cappuccinos, 4 pain killers, 2 muscle relaxers, 3 Xanax and no sleep since 9AM yesterday. I'm in rare form.

I would rather want a subforum instead of a brand new sector.

Were more stickies just added? This is getting bad, if everybody agrees I wouldn't mind making a new "threads of interest" as long as everybody agrees to unstick every thread.

hmmm another option would be for me to increase the amount of posts shown on a page... think this would work?

the idea of having one master sticky with all the links in it would be great too (i did just add a few more stickies the other day at request of members for those threads)

maybe just have one master sticky file with all the links in it?

IDK...
If some products are sold on a continuous basis.... like the 405 lenses by Jay
and Larry...Etc... I would think they should be in the "LPF Members STORE" section
or something like that.. I know it does not exist... but it makes sense to me.../

For items that are for sale on the spur of the moment and are just onsies and
twosies then the B/S/T section is fine...

I like this idea. That way a one item sale won't get drowned out by every seller posting "bump" 3 times a day and pushing non-bumped threads to a back page.

I do not think increasing topics to a page would help much, I think it is better off as it is now.

Uhm, i always keep it at the maximum, for froums, that actually here is 40 ..... maybe you can turn it 50 fixed, but i suggest you to not increase it too much, cause if a thread contains a lot of images, graphs and similar, especially if loaded from third parts, then it may become very slow in loading, and sometimes, with peoples with slow or bad connections (guess who ? :p), it can stop to load at half, lefting part of the posts without the related images and generating confusion.

Personally, i think that 40 or 50 posts for each page as "standard" setup. is a good choice, with, if you want, an option for change them to 100 or 200, for those peoples that have fast / good lines and prefer this solution.

10 or 20 is really too few, anyway ..... probably the script base settings come from "PTSN" (analog) lines time :D.

Just a personal feeling, ofcourse :)

BTW, always thought that only admins can post a "sticky" ..... is different, here ?

As personal idea, stickies had to be reserved to admin decision ..... peoples can ask, but not turn posts from standard to sticky or vice-versa themselves ;).

Only the Admin can Sticky a Thread... The members can NOT do it
themselves..

@T_J.... any name is OK as long as there is a Separate area for all
those Permanent Sales items in the B/S/T section...

^ Or maybe, if for c0ld is more easy, he can also just open a specific section for permanent sales ? ..... as is more easy for him ?

This way, maybe, he can give permissions to post as reply in opened threads for public use, but at the same time, decide himself (on user request) to open permanent sales threads ?

I mean, if someone have a permanent sale thread to open, ask c0ld for the permission to open it in this section, then any user can reply and place orders and questions in the thread, but not open random ones.

I think for the "Pro Shop" section (or whatever it is going to be called) we should just set a post count limit of starting a thread so C0ld won't have to approve tons of threads for the section. Even if it is only at 200 posts it won't be abused because it isn't very often that a spammer or annoying member gets over 200 posts.

Edit: Also no stickies except for rules should be in this section, because if one member gets special treatment with a stickied thread, every other person will want their thread stickied and it will become a mess all over again like it is now.

Maybe a certain number of replies or views to even qualify as a potential stickie??

ON a forum I used to frequent, they had a special section for for sale threads that were not just one off threads. I reckon that would be a good idea
