The REAL Kryton GB round #3. Taking payments now.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

Alright thanks.. Ive searched the forums a bit but couldn't find much on the thermal paste. Im sure it takes a bit more finesse than applying it to a CPU so How would you recommend applying it and where would you apply it to the diode?

I'm glad your curious about building a laser, but I think you are taking this thread in the wrong direction and getting way off topic. If you want to learn more, ask, but just ask in the right area, which is here. (make a new thread)

Thanks and enjoy the forum!

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

Im sorry, my intent is not to take this thread off topic. I feel my question has relevance to the topic as i am currently using the Kryton Groove Host. as you know it isn't anything like the aixis module so im seeking advice straight from the manufacturer.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

After re - rereading all pages on original thread and then on here. It appears that the PPR will end up being larger in diameter than I'm looking for (originally wanted three PPR's)

So I'm withdrawing my order on those and reorganizing it for Krytons more to my liking.

Just an FYI for Kenom.

in what ballpark are we talking in regards to diameter

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

Actually CrossOut, I happen to agree with designedfor1 on this. This thread is specifically for showing interest in buying krytons that kenom has designed. Not for specifics on how to put together and build a kryton.

Yes, you question is slightly related, but better to be asked either in a different thread or over pm's towards Kenom or another knowledgeable member that has build krytons before.

Thanks, just keeping this thread on topic!

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

Ive PMed Kenom on the topic but he seems to enjoy answering my questions here rather than on the PM.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

Is it looking like the Beast will be made this round or is it looking like it will be further out? If its further out I may try to find a substitute for now but still want to leave my order in. Thanks.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

the diameter of the PPR will be around 15mm. Larger than I had wanted but since everyone in the poll has indicated they wanted 14500's instead of 10440's, it looks like the 14500 will be the battery of choice for it. In order to make a recessed button, I also need extra depth to accommodate the extra material.

Icecruncher thanks for the heads up.

crossout, I use paste on a q-tip and spread it on the inside diameter of teh pocket. I also agree though that this is off topic. So long as we can get back to topic though I don't mind answering a question or 2.

As to the likelihood of the beast getting made this round, that's dependent on number of orders, cause the design is done. Currently we've got orders for 15. Thats not a whole lot.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

If you don't go ahead with the Beast at this time, I'll go in for another Groove or two before the order goes in.

Otherwise I'll hold with what I have listed, I'm planning on ordering your LPM pro in the next few days, I've got to have money for that.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

I'm pretty sure we'll get at least a few built. Just cost more.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

My 445nm LD needs a host - any update on the Groove's? :)

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

i'll begin taking payment for the hosts in the next few days. We've finalized at least the Grooves and the Beasts are a pretty much done as well. The cnc shop of pontiac does not have the means of doing the design for the beasts as is, so I don't know if those will be made or not. I am in communication with multiple machine shops.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

this will be the only time I ask this.

do people want me to press fit a A-140 diode into the host for them. This would include a GB for the A-140 diodes. I will buy a projector, extract the diodes, and press them into the Kryton FOR YOU. I will NOT attach a driver.

Speak up now please.

Re: The REAL Kryton GB round #3

If the Groove run is going to work, I'll pick up a few of them as well.

Are you going to run it as an actual GB/Pre-Sale (collect money before having them made) or do you need some funding?

Peace,
dave

Use the multiquote and the edit button

are you selling the beast? also what are current prices

i would take two beasts if the price is right. and i will take two grooves both polished.
