I know connecting batteries directly to the LD is bad. On my next laser i will try and use Daedal's circuit board. but the other day I built a burning laser pointer and connected it directly to the batteries and it still hasn't burnt out, and still burns things quickly when i put new batteries in. This diode i extracted from a broken DVD burner ($17.90) seems to be very tough i even heated the diode with my soldering iron while the diode was inside the aixiz housing to the point where the aixiz heat sink became so hot i had to let go of the thing so i didn't burn my hand. I thought i killed the littel thing but to my surprise it still worked (and burned stuff).

well if you put brand new lithiums or something in it, you may kill it, so i would be EXTREMELY carful with that!!

Just think if u took 50 of these and focused and colimated them on one spot, u would have a 10 watt laser. I wonder how hard that would be to do.

Make that 21 left! I was wanting 4 but after seeing how fast they are starting to go I decided to pick up three because that's all I could pay for at the moment. Maybe if I can get more money in my paypal I will pick up a few more.

Yeah, everyone comes out of the woodwork when it looks like they won't have to wait...causing the rest of us to wait longer. But I suppose for some is was just waiting on that next paycheck.

They should be here no later than Monday or Tuesday I expect
