Starting tonight, 13 Sept - new GB for 16xdiodes !

Hi guys,


I just came across your site, and I'm interested in purchasing a diode. I was just wondering how long does it usually take for the diodes to come from the supplier? I really can't wait to build my laser so I just want to make sure that it doesn't take a couple months for the diodes to come in before they are shipped.

well he has ordered them, and exspecting them on monday-tuesday, so it will prolly only take a MAX of 2 weeks to get to you, but still, that is a good deal for LD's!

It would really depend on where you are located, and if you select priority shipping as an upgrade or not. IF they come in on Monday, they will be mailed out on Tuesday, and most would start arriving prior to the weekend.

I was just worried that you ordered them from a Chinese supplier or something and we'd have to wait a few months before they came in, but this is good news. I'm definitely going to order one through you then.

Agreed....you really want to get at least 2 if at all possible.

Any specific reasons? I'm only a college student so money is kind of tight... Plus, I am going to buy your DIY driver kit and I need to get goggles.

There are many reasons. Please read through the Experiments and Modifications section of the forum. In a nutshell...one mistake can result in a dead diode. BTW, welcome to the forum.. ;)

I really think you should get two also. You might accidently power up you driver board without your diode attached and the cap fries the diode, you might touch it with your fingers and the tiniest bit of static fries the diode, you might accidently put too much current through a diode, there are so many ways to fry a diode it's a good idea to keep one as an extra, and if you don't fry the first one you can build something extra with the second!

Well, he can always buy another one and support senkat with that :)

But that is really good, so if I feel like a 10-dot-laser, I can still build that lateron w/o waiting for another gb.
