Wrong adapters - he means the little metal ring that goes on the lense - the little silver part.

Yes, I will have plenty of housings, as I purchased over 100 of them :-)

Do you mean the 9mm diodes?

There is a converter somewhere online that clips onto the 5.6mm can to turn it into 9mm

Well, I just put in my order for 3 diodes, and im gonna go add 4 aixis modules to it in a bit! :D

Hey SenKat, I just ordered one through Google.

Figured i'd get in now while the exchange rate to New Zealand dollars is so good, and since my diodes from the second group buy are so unbelievably powerful lol.

I'm about ready to order 4! Maybe I will be able to pull off 5 but I'm not sure yet, I hope these don't sell out before I get enough money in my paypal!

Ha Ha.. I probably won't (give up) :D I am too stuborn to let a little LD beat me....

If, no when I get it too work I'll make a buch of them and I should easily ;) recover "prototyping" costs by selling them. This thing is unknown here in Australia and I'm sure once I get one working everyone I show it to will want one : $$$

just ordered two LD's and a aixiz housing(Stonetek - Focusable Laser module housing )

I made my first laser the other day and took a button from a dvd drive board so i can just turn the thing on and off by pressing it.

I know connecting batteries directly to the LD is bad. On my next laser i will try and use Daedal's circuit board. but the other day I built a burning laser pointer and connected it directly to the batteries and it still hasn't burnt out, and still burns things quickly when i put new batteries in. This diode i extracted from a broken DVD burner ($17.90) seems to be very tough i even heated the diode with my soldering iron while the diode was inside the aixiz housing to the point where the aixiz heat sink became so hot i had to let go of the thing so i didn't burn my hand. I thought i killed the littel thing but to my surprise it still worked (and burned stuff).

Use a heatsink clip when soldering the diode or you might not be so lucky next time.

Speaking of heatsink clips, I need to figure out where I can get one :o
