This is a very nice Guidesman kit. I've had ten of these units sitting around for several months. Today I am going to release them. It will be a LIMITED run of only 10 units being produced. If you get one of these, you will have a nice rarity.
Now, obviously you could ask another machinist here to try and make you a heatsink for one of these lights if you find one. Hopefully they will disagree and say no to keep it fair for the people who buy one of the limited production 10 units being offered now. I do plan to do this from time to time. It's a fun way to introduce some cool (IMO) hosts and keep the numbers very limited within the community.
Now, due to the nature of the beast, I had to rethink the traditional design approach. Since their is no lip on the head of the light, the heatsink is press fit snugly in to the front of the light. Me and RHD have been doing custom work for a while now, and a bit of thermal adhesive does a nice job securing it in place and provides excellent heat transfer.
The other hurdle is that there is no pill area originally. The original configuration is tailcap>battery holder>circuit board with LED's soldered directly to the board. To overcome this issue, the back of the heatsink is machined out nice and large. This is now your pill area. The heatsink effectively acts as an entire module assembly. Aixiz with diode in the front (thermal epoxy is used to set the Aixiz in place. This was done so that their is not a bulky set screw hole drilled in the side of the nice heatsink surface. This will be more clear in the pictures below. Again, another method we came up with on a few of RHD's customs.), small hole bored through center of module to allow for wires to pass through, and then the pill area. On the bottom of the module, the factory circuit board is mounted (LED's have been removed). This whole unit is then placed in the host body.
Unlike all my kit sales, this one will not have a buy it now option. I ask that you PM me and I will give you my PayPal information. This way I can add your name to the list below. A lot of work goes in to these, and the price reflects that. These kits will be $44 USD. That includes shipping within the CONUS.
That's cheaper than most of the diodes we all use, and only TEN will be produced.
*** Once these are gone, THEY'RE GONE!! ***
These use a x3 AAA, x3 14500. By my measurements they will fit an 18500, and a 18650 snugly with a bit of tailcap/spring reworking.
I must add, that due to the nature of this design there will be slight size variations to each one.
BUYERS:
1- SLPbum, PAID.
2- Ra1nfade, PAID.
3- mark-in-dallas, PAID.
