******Special Limited 10 Run GUIDESMAN*****

Mark, I can machine a sleeve for you if you need one.

Edit:
The only difference between 18500 and 18650 is the length, 150mm difference. The diameter remains the same.

Yeah, the length is what kills it fror use in this host. I may take you up on machining a sleeve, but for now I think I'll just use tape to incerease the diameter.

BTW, I finally killled the 650nm Guidesman I got from you (mohrenberg) way back when. Not because of anything wrong with the build, just my supididity in thinking I could take it apart, and ripping the wiring all to hell, and not being able to free the driver. :)

And I loaned the 405nm to a friend to play with her dog, after discussing that she should never let it hit the dogs eye, and then never got it back. Yeah she's no longer a friend!

you never got a 650nm guidesman from me, cause i just sold the host and heat sink. I haven't sold an actual laser in 2 years now.

And Ray, I know I've got a bit of credit with you, and I will eventually use it and will probably take you up on it once i have a couple of 18500's, but if you want to machine something for me, I'd love to have you machine a custom focus adapter tailored for this host. I probably should have thought of that in the first place.

I do love this host though! Awesome job!

Yep, look at when I registerd, you were my first purchases. Think back, I bought one laser then sent it back because of focusing issues, and bought the second at the same time, cause I was inpatient. That was right before you stoppped selling completed lasers because of the fed hasseling you. I know you'll remember if you really go back. Shipped from St. Louis to.....Dallas? :)

$65.00 bucks each, ring a bell. :)

We even talked on the phone once.

Mark, I will need to get another tap to do the focus adapter. Had I known prior to shipping it, I would part the beveled front end off and tap it there.

Matt, your girls face is scaring me. Not horrendous looking scary, scary as in she looks like an almost identical twin to my wife. WEEEEIRD. to beautiful women.

OK, I don't have my custom focus adapter yet, but thought I'd go ahead and post a few pics of the build. Their not as sexy as Ray's, and they don't look as good, but I thought I'd post them anyway.

I don't know what wattage it's putting outt, but it is using a FlexDrive set at 1,250mW, so I'm guessing around 1.1 Watts or so. I do have a LaserBee USB LPM on the way though, so I'll know for sure soon enough.

Runs super cool too. After 1 minute on time ithe heatsink isn't the least bit warm. :)

Edit: Actually with 1 amp AAA cells it does start to warm up after 45 seconds and the driver protection circuit kicks in (I think that's what it is, the beam starts flashing with a FlexDrive, right?). I'm guess I'm going to have to open it up and fill the pill area with the thermal compound once I get it.

I've got a 18500 coming and we'll see what that one does when I get it.
