Nice Brick of Text you have there....

Pray tell what does your above ramblings have to do with this
Thread topic....

Sound like SPAMMING to me....:undecided:

Jerry

What did it say? I don't read bricks, they are too heavy.

Hello everyone, I have already introduced myself, and this isn't that type of thread, but I thought the Welcome section would be the most appropriate place to put it, feel free to move it if there is a better place.

Now, I am on the forums quite a bit just reading through threads because pretty much every topic someone writes about, I enjoy looking at and offering advice if I can. However, through doing this, I have come across multitudes of posts talking about the vets of the forum saying how they are grumpy, anal, etc. And usually this is from fairly new members. I would like to discuss this briefly in this thread and feel free to leave your opinions as a reply, although keeping them objective and mature would be appreciated.

:thinking:Now, when you go to someone's house that you have never met before, do you kick your shoes off as soon as you enter, hop down on their couch, and ask them to grab you some Chips or something? NO! Why not? Because there are a set of understood rules when entering another person's domain. You are expected to respect the rules of the house, respect the items therein, as well as be gracious to your host so as to not misuse the generosity they displayed when they allowed you in. A person's home/domain is their sanctuary from the world; a place of solitude where peace resides as an oasis in the desert.

The veterans of this forum have taken the time over the years to build this forum up and create a community and a place for fellow enthusiasts to flock to for camaraderie and help. This is their domain. When they allow you in, it is JUST like allowing a person into a home. Said person is expected to behave with the respect befitting said home. As such, it is perfectly natural for them to request that you abide by their rules, and they have even displayed them in the "Rules & Stickies" section so that no one will be caught unawares and disruptions of the peace of the forum will remain few and infrequent.;)

One of the things they request of the members of this forum to do is to abide by proper grammar usage as best as they can taking into account any language barriers that may exist or learning defficiencies. So when a veteran, or any member who considers this forum a nice place that should stay nice, critiques your use of grammar, it is not an affront to you nor is it rude, they are simply reminding you of the rules that have been agreed upon. The same goes for behavior. There is a standard of character which is expected of a member of this forum and when this standard is not met, or worse laughed at, the contributing members of this forum may correct the offending member. All the veterans are doing when they critique, correct, or caution is preserving the integrity of the forum and helping you avoid the consequences your disrespectful actions may bring on.

When a guest in a man's house spits in his face, the guest is thrown out. As such, do not be surprised if the spittle from your lips results in a boot to your backside:)banned:).

Again, as I have said, the veterans here want you to succeed which is why they have a thread for Etiquette and a thread for the majority of beginner questions to help you on that path.

If you are new here, I hope you will introduce yourself in our Welcome section so we can get to know you and enjoy your stay! :D

This thread is not meant to cause anger for anyone but is merely meant to put things in perspective. Again, if you have any opinions you would like to state, you may post a reply or even pm me if you have some problem with me personally which you would like to express.

Have a great day:beer:
-Isaac

PS-I realize that I am fairly knew to the forum myself but I feel like everyone should respect the forum and the veterans who made it what it was. I am not claiming to be better than anyone, this is just my 2 cents.

Well said, I couldn't agree any more.

You will need to check the Date of the last post so that
you can avoid getting some of these [

] for Necroposting...

Necroposting = bringing old threads back to life....

If you had some relevant information to add to the
Thread that would be fine.

Just to add I think the link in your sig could be considered a spam also so please chuck it. Thank you in advanced. Unless you are the owner of that company, then I digress.

Not really an issue since Jerry is the only owner/employee(?) from JBauer that actually posts on here.

It was kind of annoying when ten new reps from a chinese company would show up and all have links in their signature. When it's just 1-2 people who contribute somewhat, it's a different story.

OH  That's what you guys are talking about... ok, yeah, with that I have no idea what's up, nor care :p Kind of annoying to end up quoting it though once in a while in a response.

Oh. Well that was pretty clear cut spam. The guy was just copying previous responses word for word.
