If he was closer to me I'd just take a ride, like the old days. Messages like this are what messed up the whole thing. How do you expect Rob to get help from the authorities when the main thread containing information about the incident is filled with pathetic threats?

There is still work being done on the situation to ensure that Rob gets back his money and Andrew learns a lesson, but if we have any more of these bullshit posts it will probably never happen.

I see innuendo, not threats. Its a "what could of happened" post. And lets remember my other post 4 pages ago saying we should all stop. This thread is a fekken joke anyway, and should have been locked long ago, if not deleted in its entirety. Everyone with their bad talk, and detectives skills pissing it out for all to see. Bottom line rob is an idot. He sent a kid a laser for partial payment , and a payment plan. How fekkin stupid is that? To someone he didnt even know. He should of took care of the problem using the correct channels, and reported to us the progression. Instead this circus show pops up, and this kid is laughing the whole way. And I almost pulled resources of my own for someone I dont even know (rob). I must high. Bottom line is nothing is going to happen, and the whole thread should be dumped. All you have here is 2 members who are now banned, that was laughing at us. Yeah, this thread will hold up in legal court! STFU.

How exactly would it help Rob that you and a couple of your biker friends went to jail for burglary and assaulting a 19 year old? This is not the 1920s and you are not a mafia boss.

You could have just admitted that you don't know anything about legal procedures and left it at that instead of resorting to calling Rob an idiot.

In Robs defense TJ, about 2 months ago I got a call from a lady I never met, Her computer was acting up, so I responded and drove to her location...

I spent one hour in her home, did all the troubleshooting, repaired the files, got her machine on the net and then asked for my $100 fee.

"I get paid on the first", "Can you stop back then".... blah blah blah blah..

I stopped back on the first, she hid and did not answer the door.

I tried 3 more times and gave up.

Found out after the fact she is on welfare, and DSS has to pay her bills, because she never did so herself. Welfare has to pay her rent money directly to the landlord.

I feel for the landlord, she ran out of fuel last winter, and Len had to heat her place out of his own pocket to protect his pipes from freezing up.

I wish I could re-corrupt her DLL files, but I can't.

Moral of the story? sometimes we don't know exactly what we are getting into until it's too late.

However!! whenever parts are required, I ask for a non refundable deposit before I will ever order parts for someone. it just makes sense.

No one besides you said T_J was a Mafia Boss... It seems you have
no clue as to what goes on or has been going behind the scenes...

I see a post like this and I see a someone with no clue... your whole life

I do agree that T_J should perhaps not have posted his "theoretical
suggestion" in public...

Rob will need to get the fortitude up to proceed with the Legal
recourses mentioned above...ASAP

Any other suggestions can easily be discussed in PM as some have
been..

To the rest of the Forum Members who are doing what they can behind the scenes; I appreciate all your time, effort, stress, & everything else you guys are graciously doing on my behalf. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow or FRI. I WILL be calling the P.D. in the town where that kid lives, & pursue this legally, not with brass knuckles. Thanks to all who are standing by me through this ordeal. Yes I WAS an idiot for doing what I did, & I already said so, I don't need to be reminded though. I learned a costly lesson from this & it won't be repeated any time soon.

Rob - Have you considered filing a small claims??

Small claims court is set up exactly for this scenario, you represent yourself, no lawyers needed, The doucher who ripped you gets served, you show the judge what went down, and the guy gets court ordered to pay you back.

It's a simple process, and if he would have to travel any distance to answer the summons, he would probably rather just pay it.

However if he does not answer the summons (served on him by local law enforcement) he automatically gets charged with contempt of court, and your case wins by default.

However, there is a $50 filing fee, you can include the filing fee in your claim, and it always gets awarded.

You seem to suggest that TJ's threat was born out of some action which has been discussed via PM.

The course of action should quite obviously be:
1) Gather information
2) Attempt to convince the scammer to end it before it blows up into a big thing
3) Attempt to convince the scammer's parents of this
4) Go to the authorities

Seems to me that the 3 first points have been ruined since too much of the information was posted openly, the scammer saw all this and thought it was a joke, and now the thread we should have been able to refer his parents to as a "group of sensible individuals pleading for their cooperation" is full of threats of both harassment and violence.

The 4th point may still be possible, but is being jeopardised by continuous threats and harassment.

I have never been in contact with T_J in PM or by E-Mail or by Phone
or by any other communication medium to discuss any threats that you
so blatantly accuse me of doing...

I'm not sure if it works the same way in the USA as in Canada...

If someone (for example) in Toronto Ontario (about 500KM) rips
me off and I want to take him to small claims court... I need to file
a claim in Toronto...
I can do this through a Paralegal which is a bit cheaper than a full
fledged Lawyer...
