SBA's "Before You Touch That Diode" Thread

:whistle::tsk::tsk::tsk:

now go be a good cowboy and combine those posts!! lol;)

Thanks LB, and everyone! Hak, I don't get which posts you want me to combine.

I think I'll include a link to Jufran's test load in the mention of it. It'll help people find one, and make this more sticky worthy.

Ok, I've included some handy links into the checklist. If there are any others you feel need inclusion, please let me know.

Thank you for posting this thread SBA! As a noob, I didn't have the good fortune to read the older posts and they are not always obvious in a search. Sometimes they can get lost in the shuffle. For the most part, everyone is referencing the research and hard work of our esteemed Vets :worthy: Kudos to your Sir

~ LB

Great stuff it really is but sheese are you guys have a contest to see who can get the most stickied threads.

Thanks Duke for the compliment. But you have my intentions wrong. I am simply trying to help as many people as possible and contribute to the community that has given me so much. Pardon me for ham-fisted attempt to do my part to add to the forum.

I explained my previous lack of understanding of the etiquette regarding stickies and promptly apologized to the appropriate thread.

If you find the title of this thread to be in poor taste, I'll remove my acronym from it. SBA seems to have become a nickname around here for me, so I threw it up there. I'm not an egomaniac and will remove it if it offends the forum.

I hope you understand my perspective on this. I've tried to make ammends for my error.

Na your good I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything. Just pointing out that it's the 3rd or 4th sticky type thread in the past week. Keep up the good work, your only helping.

Thank you. I do not generally try to create threads I believe should be stickies. I try to create threads, like the LPM thread, that will be helpful for everyone. I don't have much knowledge to share here, compared to the veterans. I'd like to share what I can, and what I can do is logistical crap like spending hours creating and maintaining a thread to benefit the community that has benefited me.

I get what you're saying about the sticky-type threads, and understand why the veterans are perturbed about it. I'll try in the future to not create un-needed threads like that.

At least I never rep-whored...I'd hate to feel as bad as that guy.

I dont believe in any of that crap.

they are only diodes ya know??

I am positive most of these were defective- that's my story an imma stickin' to it!!

not my fault

The old defective diode story. Never heard that one before.:p

My favorite is: "My 5V wall adapter is rated 1A man and the diode only lit up for a few seconds and then went defective":banghead:

Speaking of which, Jordan...I have a bone to pick with you! I seriously question the lack of your stuff's quality! I overvolted my 9mm with just 2.5A @ 6V, and it died! What the hell, man? It's clearly defective!

So, I got to do my first de-canning...Surely my UGLY way of doing it was not the "preferred" way, but I got to see the guts.

Man..that poor diode didn't stand a chance! Every single anode-side wire was FRIED.

I think I hear DTR's cash register ringing...

Yeah...DTR should dislike this thread....might interfere with his business  although nowadays my diodes tend to live. *knock on some damn wood*
