Hi,
Hey i try to give the customer a good deal and i stand behind them. Yes a lot of time goes into a build some folks don't realize this if i make a mistake thats time and material lost and that can be frustrating at times. So i learned the hard way and take the extra time to machine in more reliefs and grooved plus i include a focus adapter that others would charge for .
Thank you for the encouraging words buddy glad you like it . I just machined a sink and focus adapter for a buildit is a C8 style host but on a much larger scale its huge. The heat sink is 2 in. in diameter , thinking a NUBM44 /G2 lens. i also have some battery tubes extensions that almost fit the threads so it can take 3X18650's. I just need to machine a few Delrin spacers to fill in the space for a clean look. This will have 22 AWG silicone wire to

Hi, Just started to do some powder coating sinks and focus adapters. Hoping they come out good so far its going well. This is going to be for a NUBM44 build in an oversized C8. Powder coating is very durable that paint and safer than anodizing. I will update the findings keeping my fingers crossed.

Ohhh fancy! My uncle powder coats riffle barrels and vehicle exhaust parts; it is very durable indeed. Me thinks it will look very nice on lasers too.

Hi Bacon,
Just finished a trail run on this sink and knob i need to get use to getting the AL really clean so it won't leave imperfections . I buffed them out and i can polish the coating to.

Nice, Rich!! I take it it’s getting a little warmer weather. Is this HF paint? That stuff is decent paint. Try some Eastwood. They make great powders. Descently priced and really nice colors. Their apple translucent would look great for green buildsop:

Hi BM, Thanks some thing different now heat sinks can come in different flavors.

@SGD,
It is not paint it is powder coating it's hard and durable , won't run like paint and you get an even base . I have Red, Green and Blue and Black.

Right, it’s not a typical paint. Its thermocure polymer. Some are epoxy, polyester, blends. Different colors and their effects can lay and apply differently. Practice with the psi settings. What’s cool is if it’s heavy on one side or uneven...dust it off and go again. Just be sure to shake the powder before use. Catalyst can settle away especially when it dances through the mail. Like paint though be sure there’s a little mechanical surface on those turned surfaces to adhere to :beer:

Hi SGD,

Thanks for the info of about the powder settling, I use a high voltage to avoid the Faraday Cage effect on the sharp corners. This way there are no issues getting the powder to adhere to those spots. Cool ..

Hi, here is a oversize C8 NUBM44 this build is huge Aluminum Sink and focus adapter powder coated with a durable finish. It takes 2X18650's/G2/SXD set to 4.5A and the driver is sinked with a piece of copper and that is sinked to the bottom of the main sink. The diode has a copper back half ,The heat sink has considerable mass .
