What is a manufacturer refurbished diode? That is what they are calling this. It is also harvested, so who know how many hours are on it. That is a great price, though. Maybe a little too great.

Hi,
Red for 103.00 even for a 700is a steal. And thats over 1+W's but is they advertise for a 7475 well i would go for that as best. Cant wait to see your Big Green build in that SkyRay host. The copper core and deeper finns should give you a decent duty cycle. The Sink is machined to sit all the way down in the pill and not shallow . Glad your happy as i was to machine the sink and mod it.

Rich:)

The one that I won was advertised as " NEW " NDG7475T but I am still going to drive it at 1.8a Here's my purchase > https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nichia-NDG...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Yes I really like this host and your machining looks great, the copper insert and the snug fit will move the heat nicely. :)

Now, that one is stated to be a new diode. That means no tinned pins. At $103.00 that IS a good price.

Hi folks , :bumpit:

Your right Rich, I was way off to what I thought the Skyray was when I brought up my purple one..RedC yup this one sure came out nice:)

Here they come, down to 100 each everywhere, now I wonder what's new coming down the pipe ? Imagine a 3w 520nm, how high will they start, 1000.00 again, I will wait again, LOL.

Time to start thinking of PBS cube combining two, or knife edging again :) - techhood won't be back until 23 Feb, Chinese holiday? If a 3 watt 520 nm is made, it will just have a wider emitter and worse divergence, but we can deal with that :)

Yes, I would rather correct divergence of a single emitter than knife edge and bundle these multi modes because of the uneven divergence, if they produced a round or square beam that diverged the same on both axis that would be great, but as the divergence is uneven I would rather just work with bigger diodes/worse divergence and correct then use larger beam expanders.

Good luck on your sale, Rich. I'm sure you won't have to wait long.

Peter, I built a 1.7 watt 445nm in that same Skyray host about five years ago. Gave it to my daughter so she could have one high power laser in her collection.

Hi Paul,
Thank you it’s a nice copper build and very heavy and sturdy. I still can’t get over this new WL the color is just amazing. Yes I hope it goes to a good home.

Rich:)

Yeah, I love mine. Got a spare diode for something special in the future, too. Had to put one of my new Panasonic batteries in my 477nm build. It was fading fast and, at first, I thought the diode was failing. But, it was just a crappy trustfire 18650. Whew!

I got the great looking skyray from Rich today and just had to put a PLP520 in it, my 7475 is still shipping from China and not expected for a couple of weeks, so I just had to see it emit some photons.

The skyray looks great, feels nice in the hand too.
