Sale thread/ Hosts/Heat Sinks/Focus adapters/lasers

I could use a LM 317 and simply isolate it, just like I used to with 660/650 reds that were case positive.

It says 6 volts at 80ma so a pair of 16340's and isolate the linear, but I did think that suggested driver would work so thanks for the heads up on that.

I really wasn't even looking at the specs on that 505nm diode, I just bid on it because I wanted to observe the color, I got all 3 for 124.00 including the 7475, I wasn't even going to read up on the 505 until I built out the 7475 but I will remember to make a little custom aluminum home for it and use an isolator when I attach the linear.

If you isolate the diode you can use a boost driver. No need to build a linear one. But, if the insulation breaks down, it will short out your battery. I have never tried isolating them as I like good thermal contact with the heat sink and the insulation will always decrease your thermal conduction.

No I meant I would isolate the linear with one of those grey thermal transfer mats and the white plastic grommet for the screw, like I did these in this pic, these were all case positive reds.

I was going to make a little aluminum box for the 505, actually I have some already made.

Although I could mount the isolated linear to a piece of aluminum and jam it in the head of a small plastic flash light housing, first I will press it into a module and put it in a small heat sink and look at it on a bench top regulated supply, then if I feel like it mount it, I wanted to see how different it looks than that 510 pen I have coming.

Oh. Yeah, I built a bunch of 200 mW 532nm in small boxes too. I was able to add IR filters to some of them, plus a fan to move air in and out of the enclosure. Now, I'm working on building two PWM controller boxes to plug into the RGB lasers that have TTL inputs from LaserLands. I have already built the circuit and tested it out. Works perfectly. I am building two because another member here wanted one too for the same RGB laser.

Yea I built some controllers for a spiro I had using 4 of those fans from DTR that are brushless with mirrors glued on at a shallow angle, they will respond to a variable voltage between 7 and 14 but the right way is to give them 12 v and a PWM on the 5v lead.

Here's an old pic, I built it on a proto board just for fun, made lots of cool laser spirographs.

p.s. Sorry for hijacking lifetime17's thread.

Hi, 495nm Brass Build...:thanks::sold::sold::beer:
Hey is an all brass side button host takes a single 14500 cell /G2 lens / Nano driver set to 275mA. The focus adapter hides the set screw and theres a copper rivet to accent the tail cap all polished bright. Thank for looking..

Rich:)

My review of this laser is up in the reviews section :D

That brass build looks great. I had to relay a couple of your pics, just couldn't help myself. :D

Hi,
The only one left for sale at the moment is the full copper 495 and the nDB7875 2x10440 both side button. Will machine another brass soon cant decide either 1x14500 or 1x10440 .

Thanks guys for checking this out.

Rich:)

hmmm  10440 :)

Hi Alex
Yes I was thinking about a 10440 pen with this 495 or 505 diode. As a pointer you won’t be running these to the hilt! So an10440 or 14500! Cells are great for these builds. And with a 10440 the footprint will be a lot more compact . Glad your enjoying your new 495 buddy.

Rich:)

Hi, Here is a Purple 501B with a M140/ X Drive 1.8A/G2 lens Aluminum heat sink came out great and the customer GSS is very happy. Some pics..

Loving that purple:)
Did I need it, No "I now must have 5 M140's" but did I wan't it, Yes;)
Now I have a few 501B builds in black, green, blue, yellow ready for diode "most likely a NDG700" and this purple, all from Lifetime:whistle::)
Only other 501B colors I see are red and the camo??
Rich sure picked a efficient diode.

Is this still available?
No as i'm buying it..
Lifetime17 can build an exact unit for you though..:)
csk, 1 post and registered since 2013 is a bit odd. What brought you back?
