I just got my scientec meter today. This thing is easy to use, and sensitive too. I measured cheapie 2mw reds all the way up to a 1.8w blue laser. It responds fast enough that I now know my batteries are just not up to the task of keeping the high powered lasers going at full output. Thanks Dave, this meter is awesome.
Sweet!
They are also sensitive enough to actually read the change in output (in real time) as the diode and driver heat up.
Remember, when measuring high powered lasers, you need to defocus them a bit.
The calorimeter surface is very tough, but with the laser focused at the distance of the surface, the acceptable energy per square centimeter can be exceeded.
Got my Scientech Meter today as well Very professional looking, was packed INSANELY well!!! Definitely makes me feel like I am that much closer to having a personal laboratory!!!
Enjoy! Scientech meters are indeed used in professional laboratories all over the world
Welcome to a new level in the hobby
Peace,
dave
