RGB hand-held laser

Looks like ImageShack has a problem, even their home page has the blank windows with the red crosses.
Hopefully they will sort out the problem and restore the links.
Last photo was just of the 3d model of the driver mount, should get it turned to metal next week.

Hi Things,

The blue didn't look that fat in reality, but the red, sheesh!!!! has to be 10x wide as the green at about 5m....so some work to do.

I think I'll end up having to defocus the green a bit it to match the divergence of the blue and correct the red as best I an to match (I'v some ideas there) but want to get this puppy together and working first.:D

i managed to get the 3 beams onto one spot and got a sort of pinkie /white spot due to the red splashing all over the place.

Kizdawg,
"Now GET BACK TO WORK! "
:cryyy::cryyy::cryyy: (sound like my wife but she says" stop that and do some proper work:)):D

nice pictures multimode.
good to see the modules already running.
very well made driver mount.

So this is how dreams are made.

Designed in 3D and then CNC machined.

Where the hell do you get all that machined?

Hi Ed,

Well it's my dream...... I just wish I had simpler dreams :D
I do the design in 2D and then use this as the base for the model in a CAM program, this generates the GCODE for the machine. I programmed and made the parts, it's my day job button pressing on a machining centre.
The turning I got my brother to do, he's the lathe op.
Generally I fit these parts inbetween "real" jobs.

Hopefully I'll put it all togeter by the weekend, I'm waiting for some silicone wire for the power.
The main thing to get sorted after is to get the red beam to look more like a laser than a flashlight !!!!. The beam overlap is terrible at the mo:cryyy:
