Hello everyone, this is my review for DX200mW blu-ray in the oldstyle dilda host.

Here is the link:
DealExtreme: $29.10 Focusable 200mW 405nm Burns Match + Money Detector Blue-Violet/Royal Purple Laser Pen (2*CR2)

This is what package contained, placed my order at December 15th and received it today January 10th:

My first impression was "it looks the same as my newwish pen", but upon comparison side to side the dot is brighter as well as a little more powerful:

Some unfocused and raw output pics... i used a non-fluorescent surface trying to take the pics "closer" to real life looking and so the camera saw the light as violet instead blue :

Since i dont own a LPF there is no way i know the real output, however a guy in the DX forums says its about 90mW, seeing the difference with my "5mW" newwish pen thats probably true.

At any case it can do all the basic burn tricks like pop ballons, smoke dark surfaces, cut thin plastic, etc... including poke a hole through a thin CD case in ~5 seconds (focused to a pinpoint of course) ;):

And now some beamshots!, there is no fog, smoke nor anything in the air, just the natural dust particles. My camera was in nightmode so more light made it through the lens:

These are taken with a 200mW Red and a 50mW Green, my first "rainbow" pics! :D:

Overall im ok with my purchase, sure it is not 200mW but still is a good deal, basically the only way i would regret it is if it stops working all of sudden just like my red dilda did :toilet:.

Thanks for reading! :thanks:

Very nice review, the first I think.
The only thing missing is the power measurement but unfortunately you don't own a LPM.
Good job, though.

The laser looks good. Even if the power is between 100mW and 200mW the laser isn't expensive at the price of $29.10

Will the host gets warm after use ?

Thank you for this nice review.

I have the DX red oldstyle dilda and I experience troubles with it since the switch gets stuck when I try to turn it off and the laser remains powered on. I guess that this is the result a cheap built laser. It's surely true that you get what you pay for.

Thanks everyone!

Yup, u can notice it getting warm around 2:30 mins of continuous use, dunno if that is the sign to stop and turn it off or if u still can go for few more seconds...at any case since it is a cheap build i try not to use it for more than 1 minute, just in case :undecided:

imageshack sucks btw. They blocked my ISP I think. I just don't understand why they want me to register something...

I'll stick to tinypic or any other provider... :p
