Rant: Car Fuel expensive !!

I just filled up today...

$3.78/gal (87octane) and my car has a 25gallon tank. It cost me $94.75.

I get 18.4miles per gallon and live 22 miles from town. It cost me $4.51 worth of gas just to drive to get gas, and another $4.51 to get home from getting gas.

That's sugar prices. Where do you buy it? Your local dealer who surrounds himself with two life guards and a machete knife?

Naah, no need of life guards for gasoline dealers, cause the most part go into gov pockets :p

Indicatively, in Italy taxes on combustibles, considering all of them (iva, accise, production and distribution taxes, etc.) is approximatively 76% of the fuel price (i think in the USA your gov steal you only around 16% in taxes, on fuel price, but i can be wrong about this, my informations are old) ..... and resellers get like, say, 15 to 25 Euro-cents each liter sold (depend from different companies) ..... you don't become too much rich, here, selling fuels :p

I can't take this anymore, make battery cars better!! AND DO IT NAOW!!!! (I'm pushing it to the americans here who should push it to their companies!!)

Yeah, but expect those car "electrical" pumps to be taxed to hell too. How else would your wonderful public transportation remain funded?

One thing that really got me when I visited Europe was that, even with the 90% of the cost of gas going to taxes, the public train transport is still very expensive. So I end up asking: what the hell do you even gain?

In my city, the bus fare is about $2.25 or so one way, but the gas is about $3.50 a gallon (~0.70 euro/liter), and even hit a low recently of being under $3.00.

The government spent the taxes for something else. Just a fraction will be pump into public transportation. The people say automobiles are milkcow for them.

The gas prices in Panama City are about the same as in the rest of FL, so I don't see how anyone is getting robbed, unless you mean Europe; but I wouldn't worry Obama is doing his best to get prices to $5 a gallon, so that come later Oct he can then get credit for lowering the prices with his policies, and thus win the election..........so sad
