They are not protected against over-discharge.

I have not found this to be a problem.

As the charge is used up, the voltage will drop limiting the laser output quite dramatically . . .
before harming the cell.

LarryDFW, I am bout to put together my first 445, which of these batteries would you recommend for that? I don't know if 2600mAh would be overboard, or if 2400mAh isn't good enough.

The new "low internal resistance" Samsung #18650 would be my choice for a 445nm laser diode,

since it draws more amperage with the boost driver.

Would "The new "low internal resistance" Sanyo #18650" work fine and dandy for running an A140 diode at 1.5 amps with the flexdrive?

Just got my Sanyo cells today, thanks. Having them already charged was a nice bonus.

I'm using them in my Jetlasers 532 pointer, which metered at 385mw. For giggles I decided to measure the amp draw at the tailcap, and its pretty rock steady at 2amps. (the laser was cold, and I only measured for a few seconds)

Also using them in my Arctic 3 which measured at 1.3amps.

I PMed LarryDFW with a noobish question, and he replied same day. (and I learned something)
I placed the order on a Friday, got it on Tuesday.
Overall a good product with great customer service! :beer:
 
Got 2 Sanyo 18650's from LarryDFW. Great price, shipped promptly, packaged nicely and as described. I used them in my JetLaser PL-C 250 (Highly recommended!...GB Pt3 coming soon,...if not on now ;))

Would def do biz with LarryDFW again.

Well I got mine, and compared to the AW 2900mAh. They are performing horribly. I get no more than 1 min of runtime out of them fully charged. With the AW, I get over 6 minutes...

I dont believe these are true 2600mAh, actually, far below.

Has anyone else ran into this?

What are you trying to run them in?

The only thing I can think of is you are saying that it is only running for 1 minute before the driver's thermal protection kicks in not time between recharging.

These cells are amazing Ive had them for around 2 months now and still working Great. I have the AW2600mah as well and they perform the exact same if not the Sanyo's slightly a little better.

I also dont think Sanyo would make a cell that is crappy especially when there is thousands of laptops all over the world Using them.

I would also like to know what your are running them at.?:)

I am running them in my DIY SS18650 host at 1.1A in a Microboost. For some reason my pot went higher.

I am going outside to do tests
