This is really Crazy, They can't just have all these people work on the banners and then Oh well we don't like any so No One gets it? GO Get em Avery!!
 
Why were the two entry options .gif and .swf? Apple users wouldn't like this (.swf). Why not take advantage of javascript, HTML5, blah...?
If I had've known about this earlier I would've submitted something that was cross browser friendly not .gif or .swf.

With a image that small they can convert back and forth without trouble.

And I'd complain to Apple about Flash files. Seems they dont care your missing out on ~70% of internet content.

You'd think Steve Jobs and Adobe would get together an come up with something that would work, and make everyone happy.

Chez's iPhone didn't run Flash - i assumed that was a ploy by apple to ensure you bought their crApps instead of going to Newgrounds.com — Everything, By Everyone but Safari doesn't run it either? That's ridiculous! Why would that occur? Is it just Apple being too selfish to work it out with Adobe, or is there some technical reason why it can't work?

Uhhh.... I'm no apple fan (don't one and never will). I'm just saying you don't get to pick what browsers your customers are using. If you're in retail, you will want to attract customers as much as possible.

I'm quite familiar with flash. I've made a few online applications and banners before but I don't use or recommend it anymore.

I use FF4 with NoScript and Adblock to help minimise the annoying flashy things so I can focus on the task at hand.

There's nothing wrong with .gif. As far as I'm aware, you should be able to view these images on a Mac. I just think it's dated technology. I think Tech_Junkie hit the nail on the head - 'With a image that small they can convert back and forth without trouble.'
This site is probably poorly constructed and if it does have a CMS it'll be a dodgy one at that.

It would be extremely f'd up if they used one of your alls banners and never gave the prize
 
Lame. How do they know they don't like any of the banners if they haven't seen mine yet?
If the competition gets going again I will have something to submit...

Its because Apple is not satisfied with Flashes security level. At least thats what they are saying. Who really knows?

It not only covers games, and addons, but movies, and videos too. Not all of YouTube's content is mp4. You cant watch anything on Hulu, and other sites that use flash. Porn sites too. It must be impossible to watch the free porn channels. :undecided:

So why is every other company satisfied with it? Apple are weird.

Soon they'll release iFlash! It's the same as Flash but for Safari and nothing else!!! O______________________O
