Ehh technically if under "real" you mean made in Japan by certified owner and costs like a truck, then no. It's a $300 eBay sword, though fully functional and very, VERY well made.
Seller I got it from is EPIC, check this out:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
That's the one I got, except I changed my Tsuba and Saya. Check out their fittings selection
Also seller was more than happy to help out with certain... custom declarations.
Sword is basically everything it's advertised to be. It's as sharp as I can imagine steel being sharp, very well balanced, Tsuka-maki tight enough that it's not coming apart even during a bit more agressive kata training, fittings are very tight. Blade was well-oiled and protected with plastic foil during transport to prevent rust.
I have nothing but praises about that eBay seller, even though I was highly sceptical about eBay swords, especially under $300. I was first inclined to go with Hanwei Practical series, but when I saw the red same'gawa with black ito over it, I didn't even care if steel isn't perfect, it looked to badass. Lucky, everything was perfect.
