I found this:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Sharp-Pitches-at-8x-Blu-Ray-Lasers-Until-2010-81425.shtml
http://www.cdrinfo.com/sections/news/Details.aspx?NewsId=22833
(all other pages in google searching "8x diodes" gives the same text with different format)
From what I understand of max outputs:
6x: 250 mW max
8x: 300 mW max
8x or 12x: 400 mW (Supposing a 10x ?)
(max=blu-ray burner output=safe current??)
So I deduce a safe current between 200mA and 250mA for our 8x from that page. You all have set it to more that 250 mA for the diode altough some at 250mA gives more than 400 mW. i dont get it...So far the above is true for our 6x: at 190-200mA we get almost 250mW with 405-G-1 mod lens. I need an expert oppinion. ..
PD: one question: Can power be meassured without lenses ??? (just the diode into the heatsink, cuz that would be the max output for the diode at a certain current).
