You've all seen one of these before I'm sure but I thought I'd show you my twist on it. Years ago when I moved outta my parents place I inherited an old and ugly faux painting which I'm pretty sure they inherited from my grandparents when they moved out. My wife has always hated it and has wanted it gone for ever but I've always liked the large antique style frame. I decided to came up with a way to revamp it. I took the cardboard painting out of the frame and painted it with gloss white spray paint, giving it that cloudy daylight appearance. I then top coated that with many layers of Rustoleum's glow in the dark paint. I also cleaned up and painted the frame flat black. I'm pretty sure my wife doesn't like this version any better then the last but it's been a fun little project.

Hey, yours is WAY better and bigger than mine!:)
Too bad your woman doesn't like it, but I guess she's out of luck on this one...

It's also nice to see your board deserves such a prominent place.

I remember reading somewhere that multiple coats are actually detrimental to the effect.
I'm not sure how trustworthy the source was, though.

nice lol i like your idea to reuse a unwanted thing of your house

Sure the main thing may has been seen over times I guess, but I like your input and giving a new life to the frame :)

Cool stuff, I got 2 smaller ones in my room. 2' X 1.6' and a bigger 3' X 2.5'

I use it for Game nights with friends, it's a fun way to play pictionary because it fades fast and hard to draw on at a distance

That's very nice, Plan B.

I found that exact can of paint in my garage the other day and had the same idea to make something to shoot lasers at. Only my paint has zero glow to it. It's probably 5+ years old lol... Don't know what the shelf life is on something like that.

You shake the crap outta it?

The glow stuff sinks and forms a layer on the bottom.....

That is Just Awesome.

I can see me using that for hours.:)

:gj:

+ For You.

Wow man that's a nice piece of work:) Yeah, too bad your woman don't care for it,.. I don't think mine is gonna like it either. Thanks;)!

Tech_Junkie you made that? That is amazing man;)! You are Certifiable Genius:)!

Hehe, that was a great find T_J. +1

Good Job Plan B! I like that use of an unused painting.
