Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Yeah, they're just IR diodes at a watt or something like that. It will still be fun to muck around with - I haven't played with fiber much.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Yea, i considered buying it just for the fiber

Found this excellent looking buy. A Small Uniphase Novette HeNe laser in mint condition with its original box, power supply, and manual. The seller claims it has never been run other than to verify that it still works. The current bid is 35$ plus shipping (I assume shipping varies by location so I wont quote the costs).

Uniphase Novette Model 1500 Helium Neon Laser | eBay

And so your all aware I am NOT looking to bid on this. Much as I wish I could I simply don't have the money, but would love the idea of someone on here who wants a HeNe snagging this deal.

Best of luck!

SOLD 64$ won by a ebayer member w/ 9000+ fb

and maybe why ?-- do a completed listing search at Greed bay and see what someone paid for one similiar as-is - NO PS and used --more than $200--

collectors item NIB and prolluy 2mW but still a good deal for a collector

Good find. The driver chip on there has an internal 3A current limit. So depending on the implementation,
it might work with no modifications. :gj:

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

You don't set the voltage, laser diodes are constant current, not voltage.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

So i see only one pot. I dont know anything about drivers but how would you set both the voltage and current with this?
Ped is right, you don't set the voltage. You wind the pot all the way out and the internal
current limiting does the rest.

Thanks for clarifying ped!

Those brewsters on each end?

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Yep :) That's where 2B comes from. Or 2-B. A 1-B would have an HR, and a b-window.

Even if it doesn't work, it'd be an AWESOME piece to add to my collection!

Such an odd design but sweet looking. Good luck lasing it post pictures if it fires!

Chances are the electrodes aren't coated to prevent sputtering. Perhaps this was an attempt to remove them from the lasing cavity. That way the bits from sputtering didn't clutter the window(s).

Either way, it's been called by a Bob Hess, the "ultimate laser collector". I couldn't word it better, his collection is remarkable.

So fingers crossed for another one to show up...

There's also this.

Also, anybody want a portable N2 laser? :)

two interesting pieces

one
two

I am 100% sure those both go together-you can see the screw holes on each. Not sure why he isn't selling them both together, but whatever.

I AM CONTEMPLATING GOING AFTER THESE. PLEASE DONT BID.
