PAYPAL PROBLEMS STEALING EBAY SELLER's MONEY!

Way back I bought a 4GB memory stick for my PSP, but it was 4 giga bits, not bytes...

PayPal didn't give me a penny.

I guess that's how they make their money... In most cases, 20$ is not worth the trouble. Maybe 1 out of 10 seek a refund, the other 9 probably just don't care.

I had read article after article on this flash drive scam, after the fact. Apparently a widespread scam as far as eBay goes.

There are ways to reset the flash drives to the original 2-4gig and get some use out of them, but couldn't find mine in the list. There is an app that corrects the most commonly used drives and reverts them back to the proper storage size.

No, I never got into trouble for shill bidding. Unfortunately, with ebay's anonymous bidding system it isn't provable either way. In fact when they started that crap on ebay they caused a lot of my faithful buyers to stop bidding because they couldn't see who they were bidding against them and assumed it was a shill bidder. It gets worse, if you were an early bidder, ebay has this neat feture called search by bidder. If someone finds out say you win a lot of cool stuff, they may put your name on a list and check to see if you are bidding on something they want, this is one of many reason among many why you may have lost auctions.

I sent out a lot of sco's because I have a wide range of selling prices I'd be willing to accept, generally cut off was around $25 on most items i sold, with that said I did end up selling a lot of things for the 9.95 minimum bid, all you have to do is wait and you'll eventually get something that your competing bidder forgot to snipe on.

Four disputes is easy to get when you make a few hundred sales in one week, especially when winning bidders are in places like Russia, Kazakhstan, and Romania. Also it's relatively easy for a major competing seller to get employees to register and bid just to file disputes, leave negative feedback, or simply rip off. I'm sure a seller with deep pockets could get a few JQ 6packs to do it for say 20 bucks as a last resort.

Bottom line ebay is fine if you are a Buyer, but if you are a seller, then it's false security. If you become too successful people will team up against you and get you kicked off simple as that.

This is why i won't accept paypal period, even through a third party, if it means quitting ebay for good, then so be it, the stress was literally killing me...

If you are very unlucky, this could happen, now the tactic is modified slightly to prevent you from stopping them. Basally the extorting user uses a hacked account, then if you don't comply a few weeks later they gang up on you using a ring of real accounts pulling paypal INR or SNAD scams..

Oh wow that's actually a good idea....in a bad way. I wish i were a heartless scammer. I would totally do that.

I'm guilty of abusing ebay's feedback system. Paypal has a policy where they randomly hold funds from ebay auctions for like 20 days. in order for them to not hold your funds, you need >100 positive feedback and i think a minimum of 4.5/5 seller rating.

So I "won" fake auctions for a dollar where the sole purpose was the exchange of positive feedback. So about 20-25 of my ebay feedback is actually fake.....but the rest of it is real :D

Once, in another place, i forgot to add "j/k" to a joke, and was scolded from 3 users that was thinking i was intentionally trying to offend an ethnic group ..... so, now i add it all the times (well, ok, all the times i remember to do it, at least :p)

Paymate sends funds directly to the bank account right?

Is it safer in your opinion for internet shopping like ebay?

Selling, yes. I've never bought anything with it though. They don't share info with ebay, so if ebay closes your account, make a new paymate and ebay account. Even the customer service reps say, "make a new one". You need at least 98% and 10 feedback to use it though. It takes like 4 days to get into your bank account, but at least they won't steal your $$$.
