Optotronics RPL-II 532 nm +1400 mW - opinions and experience?

Great. Might be more reasons why beam looks like that. Try to use also flashlight with flash off on long expo and illuminate area desired with flashlight. That's how I did some laser shots in my 473 nm laser review:

I used my mobile flash diode as flashlight.

:thanks:

Never would have thought of that! Using another light source to cover up the wash-out from the beam. Coolness, going to give it a go next time.

Just arrived. Welcome dear Green Beast. I'm looking forward for unpacking this evening.

BTW: Sorry for not being here recently. Too much work in my job. But I'm going to finish - I suppose to have a presentation of the project beginning next week. But for sure I'll test the Beast and let you know my first impressions. ;) Thanks to Jack for a great customer care. :)

Congratulations, Radim. I know you've been waiting for this for a long time now. I'm glad it is finally in your hot little hands. :yh:

Oh man, oh man, oh man! I wanna know what you think, pix and beam shots :)

Ditto! That is one expensive hand held 532nm laser at $1500.

I hope it meets Radim's special purpose expectations and does as well or better then the specs say:
"Update to our popular RPL. This portable system also includes battery, charger, and carrying case.
Duty cycle is reduced to 60 seconds max under cool teperatures as this has incredible bright output and produces lots of internal heat.
Dazzler function for mariime / marine piracy protection.
Warranty is also only 6 months on this as standard
Divergence is ~1.2mrad"

One thing is for sure, Jack gave him as good an example as can be had from his supplier at this time because he knows Radim does serious laser art and that it will be reviewed and discussed here on LPF and be very scrutinized by potential customers who may decide to buy if it fits their specific needs.

Will be very intertesting to read Radim's review/report and see some pictures .

I have a similar output 532nm, but in a labby. It weighs 2 kgs. The diode and crystals are all TEC temperature controlled. To put all that into a handheld must have no TEC cooling or other parts that work to keep it from mode hopping and changing output power. I am very curious how this is put together and if the duty cycle is 60 seconds, how long does it need to stay off before you can start up again.
