Optotronics Blue RPL-70 $300 SOLD

Re: Optotronics Blue RPL-70 $300

If I remember correctly, Bryce sent this laser back to Optotronics for repairs. Do you know what repairs were done and what the general evaluation of the laser was? This laser is like a hot potato; no one wants to hold it for too long; but there is a strange mystique behind it. Bill

I believe it had the pump diode replaced and the crystals aligned. I'd keep it but I bought some other 473nm lasers and I need the money.

It was also putting out a checker board pattern around the dot, so the lens may have been replace/cleaned.

Edit: I should have been clearer, my bad, yes, it used to have a checkerboard pattern, sorry.

The checkerboard pattern is gone, the laser while not very power stable does stay in TEM00

Bump, this is gonna have to go on ebay if I can't sell it soon :(

Re: Optotronics Blue RPL-70 $300

i might be interested in this, i just got a question though when your shining it around and stuff do you notice a difference in beam and dot when it hops from low to high power and from high to low power?

Only if you're specifically looking for it, otherwise you don't really notice it - the beam is still nice and visible at night.

Re: Optotronics Blue RPL-70 $300

thnx for the answer Mario.
i will get back to you on this, i just had a car accident so i dont know what thats going to cost me.. hope i have enough after that for this laser :yh:

I was looking for a +/- 30mW blue in Glen's CNI group buy after my aurora died on me:mad: but this would be a cheaper solution for me, im just hoping this one wont die on me to :p

Re: Optotronics Blue RPL-70 $300

Xtrm2Rick is the first one to indicate interest in purchasing, and tysonc1979 offered to purchase it a few hours later.

Rick are you serious about buying the laser?
