ONGOING: Big Boy 3x18650 Host $30

The machining of the heat sinks are top notch from Eudaimonium. I wouldn't hesitate to order them again from him. He is the best ! :gj:

I will agree to that... These are awesome heatsinks/FA's.. MY OCD kicked in there 4 a moment...

Well that was a while.... Will see how long for the boat to sail over. Thanks man.

I accidentaly jerked my hand and the current jumped from 2.89- 3.15A the day after I took the video..

Also just because I have done this doesnt mean your diode will too... I honestly dont expect the new one to go that high. My 2.9W saik is also running at 2.8A but it doesnt put out like this one and I have another one that must have been damaged somehow because it barely pushes 2W so I just stuck it in a small host and have it running now at about 1W. I will push the new diode too because I am hopeing for something above 3W sustained. I was so close with the saik build but that only counts with hand grenades and horse shooze.

Here are some more shots of the same video..

RECOMENDATIONS FOR A GOOD LIFE IS 2.2A!!! but no one really knows..

I have had the 2.8A 2.9W Saik about 2 months and so far so good.. I will make sure to log my results on it.

Oh and if anyone was wondering what they are looking at my Ophir sensor is a 150C-A .1C head so you have to multiply the results by 10. It is quite accurate compared to my Laserbee 2.5W USB

This is the first time I'm building a laser, had actually completed building it 2 days ago when I received the heatsinks.
It was actually my father who had been pressing me to get him one and when the day all the parts arrived, he was too eager to get it done.
Left me with not much time to take pics.

Some of the parts,

Started off with the battery holder while waiting for the heatsinks to arrive.

The driver was glued to the pill, I had reversed the pill so that the leads from the diode to the driver can be kept short.
My soldering skill was just so poor that my father offered to solder the leads to the driver.

No thanks to my poor photography skills, :yabbem:

Yet to be able to get night shots due to the rain.
No animals had been injured while I was having fun with it
But the same can't be said for those pesky little insects.

People I have to thank (in the order I had acquired them)
DTR - M140 diodes & modules
Cajun Laser - the drivers (X-Drive 1.25a and 1.8a) , external springs etc.
Ryan - For this great GB
Eud - Heatsinks
Blord - Allowing us to copy his idea.
And many others in this forum whom had shared their knowledge so that I could have even built this laser.:yh:

I see you have modified the battery holder for triple 18650 in series. The X-driver works great with three batteries.
Great build ! Thanks for sharing it us.

@comet good job... thumbs up looking good there I'm going to steal your idea where you flipped the driver-sink so it's like a cup. Looks real clean.

I like the pic with the glasses, looks like a android.
