NOW 447nm CNI lasers & GB #11

Probably due to some people getting hyped up and then disappointed with the Arctic, and maybe not wanting to bother after a bad 'first laser experience'.

Which is a damn shame because the CNI units are probably a lot better. And if the CNI units say 1W, they will be 1W.

I thought we aren't able to buy 1w lasers from CNI? can we I'm a bit confused

Depends on where you are. The <500mW is due to US regulations; CNI does make them. Talk to Glenn about this, he has the details.

My point is, that if CNI states an output, it will be at that output; whereas other manufacturers have been less than honest about this.

Glenn - How much longer do we have to drum up orders for this one? I want to see if I can do more, but I can't be sure... I want to make sure my 447 order happens though.... but basically I'm trying to find someone who wants a 589.

Well, I was thinking about the GLP-589, but a talk with Vivien from CNI basically killed that. She said that the pointer can't take 3.7V if I were to use a rechargeable battery.

aryntha: You pointed to UltraFire 3.0V rechargeables on DX, but one of the reviews says that they're actually 3.7 and are mislabelled. There's also two separate posts on their forums saying that the batteries killed a laser, which suggests that they are indeed 3.7V. I'd rather not take the chance, and it'd get rather expensive after a while to buy primaries. Sorry Glenn, count me out of a GLP-589. As for the PGL-III-C-589... Well, we'll talk. :)

Actually I think most 3.0v primaries start above 3.0. I think I tested the rechargeables at 3.2. It depends on the charger, and they can be overvalued on charge. Anyhow, I have a pgl-iii-c 589, 20mw came out at 40-50mw. Not bad...

Glenn good news, themandalorian spotted me the money for the 447nm we were talking about. It will have 2 be 2 payments though because my PP only has $290. One payment will be for the $290 from PP and the remaining $5 will be sent with PP but from a CreditCard

Getting close to the countdown and lift-off friends, so, let's get the rest of us aboard, eh? Thanks! -Glenn

Awesome Glenn - send me the GC whenever you're ready; I bet the PGL-III-C will get here before my Arctic. (if that piece of crap shows up at all)

Glenn, one of my friends is wanting to get in on this. is it too late?

He is gonna want the same PGL-III-C I got for $295

What is the status of this GB ? How close is the order to being placed ? How many more purchases do you need before you can actually place the order ? Most importantly, how long will it take for the lasers to be delivered to our homes ? It is a race - I have my Arctic G1, now I'm waiting for my Arctic G2. Will I receive the the PGL-III-C 447 before I receive the Arctic G2 ?

I'm done with the whole Arctic business, and I'm selling my unreceived order to help pay for the 589nm 1mW pen (I'll post as soon as I confirm the sale) and then later I'm probably either gonna get a CNI M or C for my 1W 447nm, or an FP T-007 (so when i get the 12X I would have twins :yh:). Anyways, what's the latest count on the 589nm pens?

Been a few days now.. Hope we're close to ordering... Any updates?

I think this has been the longest "ramp-up" to the *start* of a GB i've ever seen here :)

But, it's probably because of the Arctic craze, I'm sure.

When I talked to Glenn a few days ago, he said the deadline will be around the 28th.

Ok cool... Has he sent you an invoice yet? I'm not sure if he's startred invoicing..

Have we gotten the $250 price for the 589nm pens or not?
