New High Power Blu-ray Sled! - SF-AW210 Graph!

I got my 210 today. I didn't know a bare foot could do that much damage!!!! I won't have time to play with it for a few days and by then I may have Jay's lens assy.

Mike

Should only be a day or two Mike, I have the 405 lenses, but am waiting on AixiZ glass lenses which have been shipped and I expected them yesterday...

So they should show up tomorrow.

I just order a few 405-G-1 glass lenses at a time because of the cost, but those get to me the very next day! Because Will at Creative is only about 45 minutes away from me.

Jay ---
No problem -- I got lots to do what with taxes and all here.  You and Dave are blazing the way and this time, I'm just adding my data to yours. I've heard that Aixiz can be a little slow sometimes.
Carry on ---
Mike

Yeah, I think I'll just order some extra AixiZ glass lenses to have on hand. That way if anybody want's the 405-G-1 glass lens mod, I can have their order in the mail with-in a day or two! :)

Dave --

I see you used the acrylic lens in your above tests.  How did the lens take the power?  Did it burn or maybe produce some vapors to damage the diode?    I don't know yet if these have windows.

Same as PHR and other burners:

I did NOT observe any difference in the lens during or after the test. The diodes have windows.

Peace,

Thanks! I have two coming in the mail... just wanted to make sure. And what current should I run one at for it to live for a year or more? (I'm gonna' pump up the current on the other one [smiley=evil.gif])

Testing is still on going with these...

I would guess that if you want it to last that long, you better set it low. Like 150mA's. Just a guess...

Ahhh. So they're weaker than the GGW-H20L? About the same strength as a H10N? I was hoping they were more powerful than the H20L.

But hold on... you ran one at 280mA's which gave it 384mW's! Why keep it so low???

i accidentally broke the window of my last one (he is to be known as "Linus" from now on  ;D), but it is still working. at 108mA, the vF is hovering around 4.02, but i ran it for a minute or so and after warm, vF was 3.98v. Power and better testing to follow, soonish (Thursday, I'll have my meter working).

Edit: started at 4.3v, but drops quickly to around 4v, hadn't noticed before. Also, beam profile is odd, but that's probably due to the broken window. Looks like a purple rim, with large, wide sweep across (through the centre), which is slightly wider at one side. The edge of the sweep ends abruptly, there are other lines due to internal reflections, and many "rims" of brightness around the edge of each edge. There are small speckles as most diodes have.

Edit 2: I nudged it, now it's much dimmer (barely visible one meter away on dark wall, oddly, still fluorescing stuff well though), but the voltage characteristics are the same. I think this diode is pretty much dead unless I de-can it and clean it out inside (not likely!). The beam profile was due to the way the window had broken - when I had a close look at it I could see the remaining part of lens was the same shape as the projection.
