New FOCUSABLE 200mW Red on DX

got mines today! recharged the 3 v battery for two hours, almost forgot to remove battery from charger., turned it on for a few seconds, bright, very bright.
and now i'm blind. wish i had some goggles for the red laser. only have them for green lasers.

Has anyone else noticed that this seems to just be an aixis lense screwed into a phallic cap? I compared it today to an aixiz housing. the springs are exactly the same and the lenses are interchangeable.

Yeah, I posted about that just after I got it (somewhere on Page 16 I think).

In fact I used an Aixiz glass lens on it for some time.

Whoever has this can you check something? After its been on for 20 seconds or so does the circuit board become quite hot? Just wondering if thats normal or are some of them messed up.

Thanks,

...lazer... ;D ;D ;D

Just ran it for 1:20. I cannot feel any temperature increase, even with my lips.

Peace,
dave

Yes, the PCB becomes hot as do some of the components (voltage/current regulator especially).

As for the entire laser, it doesn't get hot for a good 5 minutes.

Hello
just ordered it! ^^
i ordered sku.932 and the charger too.
Can i reach enough burning power with 3.0V?
Where i can buy higher powered battery??

The laser puts out around 200mW as it is, so there is no need to push it further. Even 150mW burns nicely.

If the laser is current regulated, you won't get more power with higher voltage batteries. But it might remain in regulation a bit longer. Especially due to a higher capacity of Li-Ions (blue) compared to Li-Fe-POs (green).

If it is not regulated on the other hand, you could easily push it too far with 3.6V Li-Ions and kill it. 8.4V (when full) could push too much current through it.

Does anyone know if it is regulated? Does the current start high on full batteries, but quickly drops to a lower level and then slowly continues to drop with the battery voltage as they discharge?

I finally got mine!  Unfortunately I have no batteries here at work.  I'll have to try and find some on my lunch hour.

try your local BestBuy store, 2 pk Duracell CR2 for $2.99. :o

I found some, but wasn't able to hit Best Buy (too far away).  This thing is amazing!  I have to be careful to not burn things in my office, I don't want to set off the fire alarms here!  :D Adjustable focus, in this case, is a very good thing!

For those who mentioned the focus knob was very loose - mine seems fairly firm and solid. Overall good build quality, especially for the price!

I have the RCR2's and a charger on my next order which was shipped a few days ago. ;)

I got mine today and it seems close to 200mW, it lights white matches near instantly. Also the head on mine is not wobbly, it actually seems well built. This thing is a steal for only $54.
