New camera, better laser pics

Hi folks, I just wanted to share a few pictures I took with a new camera I got today. It's a Nikon DSLR camera & it absolutely destroys the quality of pics I've been taking all these years. I have a lot to learn as far as its advanced settings go, but so far I'm so happy with the improved quality of beamshots I've taken lately I needed to upload a few to share. If anyone has any tips on taking the best pics that you can with a DSLR please share, thanks! :beer:

Well, here's a tip, try not to make your lasers look like they emit solid non-transparent lightsaber plasma streams. That's really getting old. It's unrealistic and seriously, any camera can do that.

Toy around with the settings, see what you can get. Go for low ISO, about 1 second shutter time (less if it's too bright), no flash, medium lit environment.

i got a canon DSLR but for some reason 445nm looks like 405nm i havent tried to play with color settings yet.. but i would have expected that it would catch those colors better then what i am getting now.....

all other colors look perfect on it:thinking:

Does it capture RAW images? That makes it a lot easier to fix the color balance in post processing.

Thanks to all you for your compliments. I'm loving the way pictures turn out from this thing & I can't wait to get some more artistic beamshots after figuring out all the bells & whistles. DJNYs post of great pictures put a lot of inspiration behind this :beer:

Yes, they're page-sized printouts from a handful of anime magazines I took home from Tokyo a couple years ago & used to decorate the bar Hentai.. hehe, cartoon porn doesn't do it for me though.

Definitely Eud. Low ISO, good aperture & scene settings, the right shutter speed and the right amount of light absorption with the image sensors.... I'm learning As for the beamshot quality, I actually get both the solid 'plasma' look as well as the grainer, transparent beams....

From those pics and the ones in the OP, I like the solid plasma look more than these - but that's just my personal preference. Thanks for the advice on setting this outcome, much apprecaited :beer:

Is that why pics 4 and 5 are so 'white' bright? If so, then YES I definitely need to play with the WB

I have no idea, I'm not familiar with RAW images or what can be done with them afterwards :thinking:
