Those are some "Dandy" photos, Nutball.
I've got a lot of those dandy lions around my place; I'll send them your way so you can practice photographing them. J/K

Those are some sharp pics, the seeds on that white puff ball dandelion are interesting up close, I had never seen them quite that close, we used to pick those and blow off the little seed pods and watch the wind carry them away. They grow around here too. Yes I have fried them with a laser :eg:

Some more fine macro-photography, Nutball. I'm sorry, but they still look like weeds to me. I spent most of my weekends fighting them in my yard in the summer months. Had a filbert tree in my front yard in Vancouver. I ended up putting plastic down over the flower and bush beds and covering them with cedar chips. It helped in keeping them out of my beds around trees and bushes.

Your ant that died in your house was killed by, what? The air conditioner or the alternating current outlet? It looks like it might have frost on it, but that would be a really cold air conditioner.

Hi ,
Yes thats one cold air conditioning unit , a meat locker ? Or the ant was hit with some nitrogen gas..Brrrrr!!

Rich:)

I finally found the natural habitat of the carpet beetles invading my windows.

I'm not liking the new camera. I expected an improvement in noise over the old one, but it is WAY worse. I'll go back to the old one.

I agree, Curtis, very good photos. I've never been eye to eye with so many insects. :kewlpics:
Nutball, if you don't mind me asking, which new camera did you get?

It's quite fascinating seeing insects close up as we only see so much with our eyesight.

I use a DSC WX-220. After a lot of careful searching for a camera with manual settings and extra zoom, I almost got a Canon 720 for it's super close focus, but went with a Sony HX-80 which had better reviews. It is hard to find accurate and detailed specs on cameras, so it looked like the one while the HX-90 was a $100 more with seemingly no extra features that are useful to me, but of course I later found out it had some of what I wanted. The HX-80 is way better for videos than the WX-220, but it has much noisier pictures. I'm looking into an Olympus micro 4/3 camera since some of those lenses should be able to still look through some FFL lenses while still having a wide zoom range. And, I think they have around 8x less noise.

Now for some zoomed out pictures from my phone
