My 8X at 440mA

Everybody PLEASE keep track of actual use time at these high currents.

.5W lasers will be EVERYWHERE now ;)

Peace,
dave

Except in my hand!!! Arghh!!! I need more cash!!! $1000+ going to car tires and $0 to lasers!!!

Maybe you should cheap out on the tires and buy an 8X. I think i spent $500 for all 4 of mine. Unless you are driving a truck or racecar.

LOL, come one laserbee...we know you are pulling in the BIG bucks with the your LPM sales. They are a hit! Buy yourself a nice BENZ.

Haha Dave, you should raise the current on you 512mW 8x to 450ma, I wonder what it would be doing then?:eg: And with the 12x's being somewhat more efficient I'd like to see one of them at 500ma with a jayrob lens. Again, I think we really underestimate the endurance of blu ray diodes, as shown by at least one murder test.

My Final measurement with the flex V4 @ 410mA is 564mw.

Sorry for the poor pics, lets see how long it lasts.. i will try to use it daily and for extended periods.

Yowzers!!! Now that's a lot of 405nm. I wonder what mine is actually putting out. I will know for sure when my new meter arrives. BTW what the heck kind of camera are you using?

Must be an early model iPhone. My 3gs takes excellent photos. It can take better close up shots than my digital camera. Macro or micro?

Yes its the 1st gen.

we have the same type of diode.

@365 i was doing 480ish
@410 im doing 560ish

@440ma... you should be at 600 ish after a high power glass lens.

Remember that some have died at 360mA's.

Just hate to see you kill your diode. That would be a bummer...

Died at 360mA?! is that the lowest recorded current that one of these has died at? I am planning on building another but maybe I will be a bit more conservative.
