I suppose I'll be the final one. Count me in. Just at least test it for endurance once you reach the point the diode no longer outputs more power. Would be nice to know how long you can run it at the high amperage ya know?

That's the current a lot of people choose to run their diodes at, and it's not the case that they die in hours or days or even weeks, typically.
Notwithstanding some of the creative testing ideas out there, this is a classic murder fund. I'm going to test the diode to death, the way we always have with previous murder funds
Anything else just muddies the results, IMO.

EDIT: Before we pull the trigger on this, I was just digging through the previous murder fund thread for the LG WH16NS40, and see a big bold gray logo on the front of the drive door that says "M-DISC".

M-DISC may not be a power indicator after all.
Some options:
A) Cancel this murder fund (no money has been collected yet)
B) Test the ASUS anyway. It's still a 16x burner that hasn't been tested.
C) Test something else, like the BDR-2209, which is Pioneer's more expensive 16x, with BDXL support (the 16x diodes we're currently using in the community are from the less expensive BDR-209DBK that doesn't have BDXL).
I'm cool with any of the above. I'm glad I double-checked the WH16NS40 murder fund thread.
