Easy there slick with the calling Americans stupid over the actions of a select few. There are a lot of us here and I think that is out of line. I have been safely operating lasers for 20 years with not one accident like many of the other Americans here also with no accidents. Let's tone the name calling down a bit, especially for someone who just posted about not finding any posts about beam shots on these laser forums.

Fucking moron. This kid is going to blind someone. He does not have one iota of common sense. This laser can burn things. What kind of moron would INTENTIONALLY shine it into his OWN EYES?!
 
Wow. This appears to be a healthy mix of immaturity, ignorance, and stupidity. That's a pretty dangerous combo.

That's one of the major issues I've had with heavily marketed laser products -- they focus on a laser's power as a measure of "coolness." ie, "it's so bright!" "You can see this for miles!" "Look what I can light on fire and burn with this!"

However, very little focus is placed on how dangerous such a device is and that it is not a toy. This marketing targets the wrong type of user who will not be informed on laser safety. Add in a bit of stupidity, and that's where you get the folks blinding others and shining lasers at planes.
